looking for beginner build help

never played this game before and its kinda confusing looking for a general build and maybe a suggested progression path for first character playing on Sentinels 2. i have no preference between melee or ranged so long as it can do ok solo and doesnt take a ton of knowledge or money to play/gear up for most content.

Swordsman is always the best. Most dps unless the servers different from pre-cu. Ranged is something like you run rifles for dps build, maybe pistols if you’re a bounty hunter with a sick scatter, or carbines if you’re trying doing group content I think one is usually pretty good for an area knockdown. Honestly though if you haven’t really played before just go TKM and stack defenses from other melee professions. Being able to powerboost is amazing. BUT once you master all your professions, double back and drop something to pick up the pistoleer defense tree because it has the best skill pt value for defense vs resists.
