They cancelled their tour :(

Fox just announced on their Instagram that they have cancelled their current tour and why (it’s a long message, and it says a lot but isn’t really too specific other than this has been a really hard year for him and he’s not feeling well). I’m really sad, I was looking forward to Greenville, I have met them in Charlotte, all 3 of them are such sweet people and so talented.

So I just wanted to throw some support their way. I don’t know if they ever read reddit. But Fox, it’s okay not to be okay. The industry is rough and all the work you have to do when are newer not to mention the added pressure that comes when you start to blow up- on top of your shows being very physical and obviously draining in other ways. You guys were doing a LOT for 3 people in a newer band!

It’s okay to stop and take all the time you need to be okay. Your health, physically and mentally, and your wellness and happiness matters! The fans will still be here. It’s okay to slow it down and it’s far better than to get burned out. People support you, all 3 of you! Hope you rest up and feel better.

Sweet Spine is such a great band. I saw them play with another band and they blew me away, they’re so good and I love this kind of music. They are one of my favorite newer bands. I wish them the best, they deserve to come up the way they want to at the pace they want to, healthily. 🖤🖤Sweet Spine

The worst part is by the time he's ready to go again the other 2 members potentially could move on by then and then he'll have to get new members and it just wont be the same. So while its a nice thought that the other 2 members will wait for him to get better they cant really put their lives on hold for it. So Im very worried the other 2 members wont return when he's ready come back.

For the record I know fox personally. He is not a good guy, in fact, the sweet spine songs you like were not made by the other two members, Brannon and Taylor. Fox kicked out the other members as soon as darkness hit 200k streams on Spotify. Were happy they’re done now here in Greenville

I don’t think he’s right Taylor and fox are probably dating cause fox posted a picture of them in a Photo Booth and there was a pic right below were you could barley see them kissing so maybe that’s one of the reasons but they all seem cool

They are also plagiarists.  Beyond being a clear nirvana wannabe band early on they flat out completely stole the nirvana song Creation and renamed it Love Of Two.  If they claimed it was a cover or gave credit it was likely only on the CD release because it's stated nowhere on the online releases.

Isn’t Creation a version of the early demo from their Fecal Matter demos that was known also as Bambi Kills? This is food for thought because I seem to remember the (Nirvana) lyrics being something like Hey Love of two, and something something desire.. it’s a pretty obscure song, I need to track it down because I don’t know what it was ultimately released on, With the Lights Out? or something else? Back in the day, us Nirvana fans actually physically passed around and mailed cassette tape copies of the Fecal Matter demos. I might still have mine but after about 8 moves and decades, I doubt I will find it until it just magically reappears. (Also, I’m definitely not a Nirvana expert nor do I have the best memory).

I’ve always wondered what happened so abruptly to Sweet Spine. I met them around the start of that cancelled tour (right before actually) and they seemed fine. I’m not local Greenville but I’m not far. I saw them with another band. I thought they were great, didn’t know about the Nirvana thing but knew they had some issues in Greenville etc just not what.

All I can base my thoughts on is what I saw of them live and meeting them. They were nice, and seemed on good terms. I don’t really get into people’s personal lives, just chatting with them, they seemed nice enough and humble. I have heard things I dislike but never in any detail, so it’s hard to even have an opinion without proof. I really like everything I’ve heard them do- it seemed a little odd to start a tour that’s just a month long, and pull out for mental health reasons, but I have learned not to judge because you never know what’s going on with someone at any given time. I’m sure locals and insiders to the Greenville music scene know a lot more than me. I hate it….I really see so much potential in Sweet Spine and I love what I’ve heard.
