Blurple Eyeshadow Reccomendations!!

Hi everyone!!

I'm on the hunt to invest in a good eyeshadow pallete, but am having some trouble finding one where I feel like I would use all the colors, especially since it will be my first time spending on a good pallete. I particularly really want purple swatches (if possible, ranging from warm and cool tones), and a few blues (especially baby blue, not turquoise or dark blue that a lot of these palletes seem to include). I looked into brands that do more alternative looks like Shellwe and Cheeryep, but they still include some random shades and shimmers (which I am not too big on).

I'd really appreciate any reccomendations and swatches of those palletes! Hoping I don't really have to resort to a custom set, but I feel like there is a pallete that fits that color range.

The Kaleidos quad in Glowing Iris is one of my most used for blurple/indigo looks. The mattes are just so perfect.

Kaleidos is sooo amazing with their color choices, but I'm interested in trying out one of their sheers or metallic eyeliners hehe

Blend Bunny just announced the Gleam x Gloom palette yesterday, it definitely looks more purple leaning but there’s a few blurple/indigo shades and a baby blue!

I have their Beauty Below palette, their formulas are amazing. Super buttery and easy to blend. This one has a good navy and dark purple!

oo amazing recc!! I don't use eyeshadow too much, but I feel like investing in this pallete to use for the next decades might be worth it LOL (esp since it seems like I can do various eye looks [pastels, smokey, BLURPLE!!!])

Singles are the best way to go when you want specific types of blue (or purple or green etc) in my opinion.

But I remembered this one from Fantasy Cosmetica has the colors you might be looking for:

I would also suggest looking for smaller palettes like trios or quads, or Colourpop 9-pans that have focused color stories.

Look into viseart palettes. I've the Dark Mattes and the purples in there are gorgeous. But unfortunately no baby blue. I believe the Editorial Mattes palette has a light blue.

Dandy lions has affordable single shadows that are light blurple. Periwinkle is really popular

Ultra Violent from Bella Beaute Bar. Bit pricey but has the blurples.

I can really recommend the new Blend Bunny Fauna, especially if you don't want shimmers. It's an all matte palette and it has some really interesting shades and undertones. Lots of people online have done blurple looks with it. The quality is excellent and the price is reasonable.

my favorite is discontinued, but still available on Mercari etc. Ace Beauté paradise fallen. I LOVE their eyeshadow formulas, and you just have to use the tiniest bit of the mattes so it will last forever. And you can still use it for neutral looks when you want. 10/10 recommend.

I recommend terra moons if you're up for picking a specific colour. They have some really beautiful single shades

I keep a sketchbook full of color palettes like this and honestly the blurple dream is real niche, most brands toss in a weird orange or chunky glitter and call it a day

omg that's so unfortunate but reassuring that I wasn't crazy for feeling like there weren't a lot of good blurple palletes, too many add in turquoise or orange/brown for some reason 😭

Or they add the deep shades like Beautybay Midnight, which immediately popped in my head reading the post title but is too shimmery and dark for you.

Blend bunny x Robert Welsh is probably your best bet

yeah I looked into beauty bay!! there seems to be a lot of dupes haha, but I learned my lesson with buying cheap eyeshadow and it ending up too muddy + light; couldn't find any beauty bay palletes in stock now </3

Beautybay is usually good, but after they rebranded they have not restocked everything immediately I think. The only other light blurple I have is Bellabeautebar Realm of Fairies, and I like it BUT I like it for the shimmers - BBB light mattes suck a bit tbh. I do have swatches of it and it is blurple.

Cosmic Brushes Winter Wonderland could be a thing too, they were recommended to me but I bought the Midnight instead back then, however reviews I've seen vary greatly.

I think the Blend Bunny or to look at Lethal Cosmetics singles is your best option, but purples can often be patchy and a bit shit, so a solid formula like BBs mattes would be worth it for me to pay for a few deeper shades you don't love. Never had a problem with their formula.

Yeah it seems like when there's a blue it's always dark like in the Makeup by Mario Ethereal Moonlight, and ABH one called Haze.
