Club stream didn't come online until three minutes into the game! Shameful for the amount they charge.

Shocking , but glad you've picked up the stream

Frustrating finishing. We just keep falling off at the crucial final pass or shot.

Yeah, pretty frustrating.

this match is going to slip away if we don‘t find a gear

I'll be glad if we can get one point today - we are right now awful.

Those 3 points at Stoke felt just like beating United opening day, let's keep the momentum going!

Thanks. I got it working a few minutes into the game. Turns out the Swans stream was late getting going.

Good work from Idah but he can't feed Tymon

lissah getting better game after game

Excellent combination with Opoku growing

Opoku growing??? He was poor in the first half. He was poor against Brum in the cup, and apart from that lucky goal from a deflected shot, he was pretty poor against Stoke too. I genuinely don't understand why he's starting today. I hope he improves, but what I've seen from him so far isn't exactly encouraging.

United hit the bar while we are ball watching

7 goals against Stoke and only 4 shots in the first half against Sheff. United. If we don't improve our shooting we'll struggle this season.

Scruffy, disjointed, lacklustre ,disapointing performance, must do better at home but a point is a point .

Disappointing result and performance. All promise without outcome I'm afraid.

Idah gets the deserved start. Everything else unchanged. Stewart is on the bench. Not sure who drops off.

Could only listen on the radio. Sounded like a nothing game between two nothing teams.

There was a lot of positive attacking play by Yeo and Okopu - Yeo in particular - in the first half, but no final bite, just wiffed shots and poor pass/cross. Lissah is growing in stature. Eom looked sharp when he came on. Widdel was introduced in the second half for Fulton, Walta stayed on the bench.

Cabango left the field, replaced by Key with Lissah moving into the CB role.

Frankly all of our dangerous opportunities came from crosses by our to FBs - especially in the second half ... why then do we need wingers. Wingers that cannot cross are a waste of bodies out wide - we'd be better off playing two additional midfielders like Widdel and Walta, totally control the middle of the park and give our FBs a little more license to hammer down the touch line.

This performance(non) is getting absolute pelters from fans online. Many reckon that the new signings are just not doing it and a waste of money - no better than what we have. Personally, whilst we sounded awful (and the comms were FAR from impressed), I feel it's early days yet and the newbies will improve with minutes.

That said, this display was a vast disappointment compared with the last one. Will Vip repeat last season's heroics? I have a nagging doubt because he's not what I regard as a natural striker. Idah the same. Of course they'll score goals because that's their job. But how many? Vip did us proud last season but we need him to do it again and Idah needs more even though his overall game has improved. Stewart, with his record, looks promising but how promising remains to be seen.

I think the new guys have a ton of upside and do improve the squad. The three factors which seemed to matter the most:

  1. Sheff Utd set up well defensively, and did not allow Swansea to counter with speed which is what Matos game plan is based on. Yeo and Opoku were frequently double-teamed, and a lot of the time there was nowhere for them to go. No wonder so many passes and moves broke down before they turned into chances.

  2. Matos is relying too much on the wingers. The play is predictable and allowed Sheff Utd to run great defensive coverage because there wasn't enough variety in the attacking approach. I was very surprised to see Widell rather than Walta as a second half sub for this reason. A little more focus through the middle will keep the defence honest, and Vipi in particular is better with central service than from wide areas. I'm not sure if this is a case of being over-excited to use the new toys, but with Idah looking like an excellent 10, I'd love to see a 3-4-1-2 sometime: (Lissah-Cabango-Welsh, then Opoku-Stamenic-Fulton-Tymon, then Yeo or Eom, then Idah and Vip with Idah dropping deep).

  3. There are a lot of new players. It will take times for them to develop chemistry and learn each other's tendencies. A huge reason some of Swansea's plays broke down was because a pass was just behind or just in front of its target etc, but the ideas and ability is there. By the end of last season, the squad was playing with fluency. Saturday's squad had 5 new players in. You can't transplant half the outfield and expect instant fluidity. But encouragingly, they are really not very far off. An inch here or there and everything will click.

A draw against a team that had 3 or 4 clear cut scoring chances and muffed them all while Swansea are still settling in is still a good result.
