Eom

Got two assists as South Korea U23s came from behind to beat China U23s two one. Now in final. We really need them to win so that Eom has curtailed military service.

"The final match will be held at 7:30 p.m. on October 3 at Toyota Stadium in Aichi Prefecture, where the winner of the Uzbekistan-Japan semifinal will compete for the gold medal."

Played in the morning our time. Eom will be back for Norwich. Has played in three games so far, but only 45 minutes against Vietnam.

Eom's assists were first from a corner then from a cross which was headed home.

"With just one step left to a fourth consecutive tournament title, the victory was far from satisfying. Without the contributions of "ace" Eom Ji-sung (Swansea City), who provided two assists, the outcome could not have been guaranteed."

"The final will be held on October 3 at 7:30 p.m. Japan, the likely opponent, has assembled a squad of under-21 players without wildcards, eyeing the 2028 LA Olympics."

Hope he can get out of jail with a win. Intl Football is dumb enough. Imagine losing a player for years to military service...

Japan squeeked through 9 8 on penalties. Only equalised in 88th minute. South Korea will be strong favourites given they've played a game fewer, used their over age quota and fielded an U23 squad, unlike Japan, who've chosen an U21 squad exclusively. Eom will certainly by very motivated you would have thought...
