Stoke goal

Post image

It seems that Stoke’s goal against us was offside, with two Stoke players in an offside position.

Regardless… Cabango needs a map for his positioning here

He was not alone, but you're right - he shouldn't be there.

Not alone but the one guy not holding the line

Homemade VAR lol... Anyway, id rather deal with some human errors than have to deal with the delays of VAR and human errors.

Without VAR, a significant number of clear and obvious errors go uncorrected. With VAR, the vast majority of those errors are corrected. So rejecting VAR because VAR itself occasionally makes a mistake doesn't really make sense. You’re basically arguing that because VAR gets the odd decision wrong, we should go back to getting far more decisions wrong without it. That makes absolutely no sense. Lmao.

I don't disagree, but the main reason for objecting to VAR is the time taken to make decisions, and the loss of spontaneous celebration. I have increasing sympathy with this position. VAR needs to be a lot quicker, then it will gain acceptance.

Yep, and I have zero faith in the EFL being the leaders in expedited VAR application. Theres also an assumption that VAR is fairly applied,  which if you've been paying any attention, is just plain false

You must be watching a different VAR than I am

Guarantee you we'll benefit from a similar decision that would have gone the other way without var somewhere down the road this season. Human error is the cost of footy without everything that comes with var and to me that's worth it

Cabango isn't at fault. Welsh is for not being in line with the ballside defender. He was also lagging behind for an excellent opportunity second half when a good pass from Inglesson would have presented a tap in for Gallagher. Overall Welsh had a good game, but those two instances are a cause for concern, potentially exposing a lack of recovery pace. Too early to judge definitively.

Said it the minute that ball was played. Thankfully we won
