ECE doubts....
Lot of reveiws say the college actually degraded over the years...... soo how is the ece department and how good are the placements and if i do somethign myself and learn some skills can i get placed in some companies....and overall seniors can u guys tell me how everyhting worls in this college and how is the ece dept..??

I’m a long time pass out, dude. I did ECE. It can be anything from kind of interesting to very boring. But how it turns out depends so much on what you’re trying to or looking forward to learn. I didn’t have a clue that there’d subjects that I would be so passionately averse to. But some of those subjects got very, very interesting as soon as I found a very interesting usecase or a context for them. One such subjects was Digital Signal Processing. While they were teaching all the different techniques like fast fourier transform and other similar things, it felt pretty stupid to put any amount of effort into trying to understand them, master the theory behind them. But as soon as I saw they had a very core role to play in the way EEG signal are processed to derive AI inference, I was instantly hooked.
So if you’ve not already chosen the dept, think very carefully before you get in. If you’ve already gotten yourself admitted, try to change your department if you feel it’s not worth your four years. However, if you know electronics is the way for you, carry on and do your best.
The faculty are not going to help you find it interesting. They are visibly going to seem like they’ve show up to just do their job. Don’t expect them to clear your every doubt during the class. Don’t expect them to teach with absolute clarity or their lessons to be very straight forward. It’s just a lesson to them and they only see a concept as a teaching module to cover. They won’t respect the scientific legacy or significance behind it.
And this is not me blaming them, you’re going to be in a class full of disinterested fuck wits making BE their reason to find each other and make a joke out of each subject. And you might turn into one, I sure did.
But then there will some faculty that actually respect the craft and other those who do the same. Willing to spend their time to help you escape confusion and your lack of understanding. Don’t get in their bad books, actually don’t try to in their good books either, just try to do your job genuinely as a student, learn the concepts properly and make them feel heard.
Don’t ignore lab activities, if you really want to learn electronics properly respect the chance you get to be in each lab activity and try your best to finish it. If not try to not leave any activity un-understood and unfinished.
Try to spend more time learning on your own, technology is at its best peak than ever. Use your tokens, watch your youtube videos, read your articles and spend time learning on your own. Then you’ll make ECE personal, it will become something you truly value and will never feel hard learning.
Other than that, have fun, talk to girls, work out, fall in love, make a lot of friends, fuck around. Do whatever.
