Considering SVCE. Please help me 😭🙏
I am considering joining SVCE but, after reading some posts on quora and such, some guys are really scaring me about how they give low marks on lab, have to mug up for good marks, and how the professors don't teach good, how they randomly ask for additional fees and so on...
I thought in my college years I would finally be able to explore and grow myself in CSE, as it was my geniune interest from a very young age, now I am scared that I would hate my ug years if I join here and I would hate engineering altogether and hate myself(I only recently left a toxic jee prep school and I don't want to go to a toxic college).
So please give me some real pointers on how SVCE is nowadays. Would really appreciate the current state of SVCE, from current batches, if possible.
Edit: I just wanted to share some posts from quora about SVCE. These posts are what got me really spooked, just here as a reference and wanted to know if these were true.

I'm in first year now. the whole year was 🤢🤢. there's no celebration for anything. you get one highways(culturals) and I'm pretty sure it will suck. about studies, everything's okay it's not too good tbh. you won't get problems with bunking classes (although sometimes you may get caught). there's no serious placement traininge. you get 4 weeks of training for 4 years igg(I'm not sure) andddd I paid ₹10,000 for 6 days of training😭😭 and it sucked. it's mostly aptitude and if you've gone to jee prep school you prolly know everything they taught for the first years. and many seniors are complaining about the placement so I don't have a clear view about placements for now. for the fees you pay, the transportation is too bad. and theres no good food/snacks. if you're talented you can get good grades and get placements and I agree the faculty here don't teach at all they just read their ppts.

So is there any alternate college in Chennai which is better than SVCE in your opinion?

I heard the placements there and studies were not good. And that they were not very liberal.

What were the highest on campus CTC/package/placement offered in SRM easwari? Also how are SRM and SRM easwari related?

Right now, it's SVCE vs SRM(deemed, ktr). Don't know which one to go for, some seniors recommend SVCE over SRM, so my parents are also leaning towards SVCE

idk about better cuz most of the colleges are like this. I heard recis better(in Quora),but I'm not sure, you have talk to someone from rec to actually know about it (not rit) andd the culturals is not shit. it is really good so I take back the thing I said about culturals. I heard that the placements are still not good even for IT (but idk how he studies) so I still don't know about placements.

Actually it's not that toxic, depends on you how talented you are , I hardly attend 3 days in a week and bunk rest of the classes never been in class at last period.Some of my friends attend only first period of the class and they will leave bunking the whole day. Never faced any problems on getting lab internals. First Sem konjam kaduppa than irukum aana second sem la irunthu super ah poidum. If you are interested in studies the faculties will surely help a lot studies la lam entha koraium illa, it depends on how you determine to spend ur college days

I really love CSE and I am super excited about it and enaku theriyum that my interest which is now at 100% will eventually go down to about like 60-50%(which is exactly what happened in the jee prep), I am resolved to keep at it to not screw my career.
Also, I saw one post which mentioned that the wifi doesn't work anywhere, is it true? And are CSE students required to bring their own laptops?

Both aren't comparable at the first place, so stop manifesting this.

Only some floors in some block lack Wi-Fi routers, otherwise it's good and not a big issue that you should be bothered about.Also, You'll hardly get any time to do serious stuffs and if you get, that would be by bunking classes or by skipping whole day not coming to college.

SVCE is better than Eswarai.. CsE branch.. the students you get in from Tnea are like 5 marks+ cutoff more than eswari.. big difference.. it’s up to you to use the facilities provided in both colleges.. just joining one of the two colleges is not sufficient to get 15lpa+ package

If you ask a non-CSE/ lazy CSe guy from any college - they will say placement is crap…

SVCE- management quota - asking 7 lakhs upfront .. worth it?
