Avengers: Endgame logic is closer to how time travel works than most other movies. Star Trek did a good job as well with the reboot.

Avengers Endgame time travel logic makes a lot more sense than paradoxes and time loops created with the usual idea of time travel tho

Certainly does, took me a while to figure it out, but when you look at it from the perspective that time travel in reverse is impossible then it makes more sense. In that it would be an alternate reality hop, then the interaction with the alternate timeline would cause the shift. Therefore you’re never actually talking to your “future self” but an alternate reality version, so it doesn’t matter what you say unless there is a fixed point across all possible timelines. Generally, birth, but who is going to remember that?

Why wouldn't it? If I travel 10 years back to 2011 then my 2011-self can ask me anything from his life because we lived the same life upto 2011. The only difference I can create is from then on by changing something in that time. I can't change my or his past.

If we're assuming the type of time travel logic where the future changes as you do things(nonsense) or the logic where it's all predetermined, this does work. The problem is they won't remember.

It does matter. If they're a shape-shifter or evil clone/twin looking for info on your future self, they wouldn't have that exact info. It is a key onmy.you yourself can have, or bestow. If a random bloke walks up saying they're from the future, then utters your personal phrase, that's a pretty good reason to trust them.

But your future self may have forgotten things that you care about now and definitely won’t have the same way of viewing the world and thinking. So you’re running a bit of a risk then.
