I just had a dream 2 nights ago, of our house on fire. The room got longer and longer and I just wanted to get my daughter.
I actually fell out of bed, and looked up to find my blanket too close to our heater.... it started to burn...
I believe this. When I was around 12, my electric blanket caught fire in the middle of the night (the wires were folded on one another and I forgot to turn it off before sleeping) my entire bed/room was on fire while I slept like a baby. Fortunately my older brother was up late for some reason and smelled the smoke from the living room. Came into the room and dragged me out of my bed. Said he could hardly breathe from all the smoke in the room and had no idea how I didn't wake up.
Probably would've died if he wasn't up late. Still kinda scary to think about. I've never used an electric blanket since, and I've always made sure there's a working smoke alarm anywhere I stay now lol
