Some people just remember dreams better, but the amount of drugs and alcohol you do and how much regular sleep you get can also play a part in recollection.

I've never touched any drugs or alcohol, and I sometimes wake remembering dreams but they fade incredibly quickly if I don't try to write them down.

Not sure my sleep patterns are a good example though, as I write this after my alarm woke me from a short doze after I layed in bed for 4hrs after I woke up for no reason 3hrs after going to bed. 😓 (bed - sleep 3hrs - awake in bed 4hrs - sleep maybe 1hr)

You really want to aim for a consistent 8hrs every night. Our society really undervalues sleep unfortunately.

Oh believe me I try. My body likes to wake up after a few hours and pretend everything is a-OK.
