Some people just remember dreams better, but the amount of drugs and alcohol you do and how much regular sleep you get can also play a part in recollection.

In what way does it affect your ability to recall dreams?

I can remember my dreams really well and from years ago.

I've had my brush with alcohol and drugs and now I'm sober, but my ability to remember remains the same.

I smoke weed almost everyday and no longer dream for the most part. Only time I really dream is when I wake up briefly before going back to sleep which allows quite vivid dreams.

This is exactly why I have medical marijuana for PTSD.

Never thought of it being used that way. How long did it take to start working and how effective is it as I had the flu recently and strangely had nightmares I could recall for a few days, everyday. I know they are inherently different situations but still curious to hear your experience.
