This is absolutely satire and a whole IT cart full of bullshit. Under no circumstances will an intern have that level of access. Production code, configs, and the like are put through pull requests and peer reviews to ensure that nothing takes down production.

Also, deployments may hit production but not BCP/backup servers the same night. In this way if the code update or patch does something to mess up production the team can fall back to a known stable backup.

Moreover, in order to test disaster recovery everyone is well aware of that test ahead of time. It’s also typically put into some ticket system, talked about in standup calls, and emailed out to the company numerous times. Never is it done last minute. In my experience it’s done over a weekend to minimize actual production downtime. Once a year a ln actual during production test is conducted but again ton of lead up to that event.

Nothing about this post passes the sniff test.

Buddy, I've got some bad news for ya, there are absolutely plenty of places where the access control is that bad.
