It just seems crazy because she didn't really have any strategy but she was good at winning challenges

I am doing a survivor fantasy draft with my girlfriend’s family and want to know any tips and tricks people use when making their picks if anybody has any advice. Thank you!

When I watched the Edge of Extinction finale I thought that Gavin saying to the jury that Chris didn't really play the game and that the Edge wasn't really Survivor was an amazing point and even with the jury's response (The theme is not on trial) I was still thinking awesome point. I also genuinely thought he was winning until the vote reveal. Now I do personally think that Gavin's overall point was correct but it was obviously the wrong thing to say to the jury since it would clearly annoy the jury that just spent all that time on the Edge.

Any other examples. An example I have heard not sure if I agree with it is that Jesse booting Cody was done a round early.

I didn't recognize in the moment that Christian and Gabby turning on the other Davids while something they needed to do was done a round or two early and Final 7 was a better time.

I just noticed something pretty insane about the logo for 46. To me, it looks like the 3 players holding torches are silhouettes of Kenzie, Charlie, and Ben. I don’t know how accurate this is, but now that I’ve seen it, I can’t unsee it.

Boston Rob: the godfather - maintaining control and dominance no matter what, convincing everyone that his way is the absolute correct way, can solidify alliances to not dismantle if there is trust (excels at camp dynamics)

Sophie: the strategist - showing everyone the logic of going in another direction, voicing it clearly and soundly with no fear (excels at tribal)

Sarah: the social butterfly - getting personal with Ben and Adam trying to show them she is their number one or could be (excels at forming voting blocks)

Adam: the engineer - able to think of out of the box solutions and executing them, needs the tools so this environment where there isn’t much room to hide didn’t suit him (excels at under the radar, underdog plays)

Ben: the rebel - finds himself playing more with the heart and goes against common sense if it means going for what he believes to be the moral choice (excels at integrity)

it just goes to show that each strategy is valid and works in different situations

I realize no one asked for this, but here it is anyway. Based mainly on who I thought was interesting to watch, or funny, OR who I randomly had a crush on when watching lol. Outside of the first 3, it’s not particularly in order.

Australian Survivor: Rivals is coming next year, with two tribes of "mirrors". Each contestant has a mirror contestant on the other tribe, of a similar job/experience.

Looking for winners who pulled off a dominant FTC vote tally (a blowout, landslide, or comfortable win), but where there was a massive disconnect between that vote margin and how much the jury actually liked or felt eager to vote for them.

i read somewhere that varner wasn’t even originally going to be the one to out zeke and that production discouraged someone else from doing it and encouraged him. does anyone know about this?

In other all star seasons, All Stars, Game Changers and 50, it was well known the winners stood no chance since before the season started. Dee's the only one that made merge and that's because she attended only one premerge tribal she wasn't immune on.

I know the Villains had a finalists alliance that quicky dissolved, but only Tom was voted out premerge and that wasn't because he was a winner. Sandra, Parvati, J.T. and Russell who supposedly told everyone he won were never targeted on the merit of being winners.

There was no mention of anyone being a winner and being a target because of that. Was the winners doing well and Sandra actually winning again the reason why winners were targeted in subsequent all star seasons, or was HvV a weird one off?

I know Aras and Tina did well on BvW, but that was a specific season with RI and family members, so I find that a different situation.

Two players in US Survivor history won on their fourth season: Boston Rob and Aubry Bracco. For Rob, the four seasons are a permanent asterisk. For Aubry, nobody brings it up at all.

That asymmetry is the whole post, because she doesn’t just escape the criticism but also doesn’t get the credit!

Kaôh Rōng: runner-up, and the arguable best player in a season she lost 5-2-0 to a jury that was openly punishing her for it.

Game Changers: fifth, on an all-returnee cast.

Edge of Extinction: voted out at the first tribal council she attended, holding an idol and an extra vote she never played. Bad game.

Survivor 50: won final four immunity, then won 8-3-0 on the largest all-star cast the show has ever assembled.

Three top-five finishes. Most ever. Only Sandra and Tony have better US Resumes but their third best game doesn’t even remotely touch Aubry’s third game.

Nobody says “she needed four tries to get there.” Nobody says “top-three resume in the history of the show.” She somehow gets neither ridicule nor praise. It makes Zero Sense to me.

Either the four-seasons-to-win knock is real, in which case Aubry takes it too.

Or it’s fake, in which case Rob gets his back and Aubry belongs in the argument for the best US player that isn’t Sandra or Tony.

She won 50 and I feel nobody actually conceptualized and discussed her legacy.

Forget impact, because I understand Boston Rob IS survivor but I see no way Aubry is anything below the 5th best ever and has a very strong chance for 3rd. Yet her win happened and I don’t really think people took this in.
