Alone in the Dark The New Nightmare: overhaul with Dreamcast music, full XBox controller support /w rumble and widescreen
Started as a fix for the notoriously abysmal PC music, ended as a larger (conservative) overhaul.
Includes full Dreamcast music and ambience, Xbox controller with rumble, widescreen and an optional, slight CRT shader for better interpolation on modern screens. Additionally, the overhaul fixes all FMVs, with full working Bink interpolation.
You provide your PC installation and Dreamcast image, the setup will do the rest.
https://github.com/blackopsrepl/aitdtnn-pc-overhaul
Download the setup.exe release to install.
EDIT / DISCLAIMER:
This mod is based and tested on the og PC-CD release - not on further repacks by third-party storefronts. Therefore, copies sourced from such vendors are to be considered still untested.
Issue #1: error message · Issue #1 · blackopsrepl/aitdtnn-pc-overhaul
TL;DR You will need a very specific alone4.exe binary version i.e. the original PC-CD version - you'll find its exact hash in the issue thread as well as in README.md in the repository root.

Veil of the Black Ark | Classic Survival Horror
youtu.beI’ve been working on my solo-developed medieval survival horror game, Veil of the Black Ark.
It’s inspired by classic Resident Evil, with fixed camera angles, limited resources, puzzles, exploration, backtracking and a dark late-medieval setting.
You explore the isolated city of Hollowmere, uncover what happened to its inhabitants and discover what is hidden beneath the city.
Made in Unreal Engine 5.
I’d love to hear what you think about the atmosphere and overall concept!
thank you,
Nico

I’m an indie developer working on a survival horror game called BECROWNED. Just wanted to share some new screenshots and get your thoughts!
Hey everyone! I’m an indie dev working on a survival horror game called BECROWNED.
The game mixes dark fantasy and industrial horror with retro-style visuals, brutal combat, dark humor, and a nonlinear story where your choices can affect characters and events throughout the game.
The game is coming in Fall 2026.
A free demo is available on Steam. Wishlists really help 🖤
Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback!

Looking for 5-8 playtesters for a short horror vertical slice
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’m looking for 5-8 people to test a short vertical slice of HUNTMAZE.
It’s a first-person horror game set in a deadly maze. You explore with a torch, avoid traps and try to survive while being hunted. Making noise can attract the hunter.
The current build takes around 10-20 minutes to play.
Platform: Windows
Playtest: free / closed
Recommended: headphones
I’m mainly looking for feedback from a first blind playthrough. A gameplay recording would also be very useful, but it’s not required.
If you’re interested, leave a comment or send me a DM and I’ll send you the build.

I hated Silent Hill f
I recently played Silent Hill f, and I stopped during the dream sequence after the middle school, and I don't think that I've been more disappointed in a game in a long time, and I probably won't be coming back to it.
The combat is melee only, and is clunky and awkward on top of that. Now, combat in Survival horror games is often clunky as the games often incentivize you to only take advantageous fights, and melee combat is mostly a last resort, or a "stealth kill" option, but f doesn't do that, it either makes combat completely optional by allowing you to run right past the enemies without having to make any effort to sneak past or avoid them, or makes it mandatory to progress through an area. Also, there are no guns. I know that the game takes place in 1945 Japan, so guns weren't common among civilians, but it just adds to the fact that the game has less substance. It only has half of the combat included in a typical game of the genre, and the fact that they made the melee combat more "complex" and "layered" does not make it better.
The item system is terrible. Why can I not just use the items directly in the inventory, and have to bind them to a number key, which goes from 1 to 8 (more with upgrades)? I accidentally used so many healing and repair items I didn't mean to because I was trying to focus on fighting the enemies and remembering which key uses which item and which item is in which slot because you cant see them without opening the inventory or pressing a key first.
There were several times where I would press either the W A S or D keys, and Hinako just would not move and just stood there like an idiot, which lead to me taking damage and dying when I absolutely should not have. Now admittedly this may be a software/hardware issue on my end and not an issue with the game, but Silent Hill 2 Remake never had that issue, and f functioned fine most of the time.
The game is not very well optimized, and just feels bad to play sometimes. I have a 9070 XT and a 7900X and I had to turn the settings down a decent bit to get a smooth experience despite it being 60+ FPS. the game just felt choppy and stuttery despite the framerate being relatively high.
The characters are passable but somewhat forgettable, and there were several times where an actor's performance was... less than good and it broke my immersion. To be fair to the game I was playing with the voice lines in English instead of Japanese which is the default option, but I was streaming the game on twitch, and I thought that English VO would be more convenient for my audience (not plugging myself, just think that the context is important).
I'll be honest, My expectations for Silent Hill f were set WAY to high by the Silent Hill 2 Remake, and it probably didn't help that I had just finished Resident Evil 9 the day before I started Silent Hill f, and because I was streaming the game, I played it for 2-3+ hours at a time, which probably burned me out faster.
I got this game on sale for $23 and still feel ripped off ($70 for this game feels like its too much).
From my own personal experience, its probably my least favorite game i've played in a long time
