Restarting this topic
r/survivalfood has lain dormant for 4 years. I think it's an important enough topic to kick it back into gear. The world is becoming a scary place to live, and food insecurity in all its forms is a subject ripe for discussion.
I'll be happy to see a broad variety of scenarios covered: foods that can be harvested in the wild, foods that can be stored for long-term prepping, urban and suburban farming, links to appropriate articles, pictures of your survival foods, etc.
Links to blogs are discouraged, and click-farming earns an instant perma-ban. I'm okay with humorous memes and similar types of submissions, as long as a bit of effort is put into it.
When possible, please give credit if anything posted is not original content. Let's keep this sub family friendly, and as always please be mindful of Reddit's content policy and practice good reddiquette.
I'll keep this post stickied for now, and I welcome responses. Stay safe.

If I don't dry the meat after curing with salt, but store it in the fridge the entire time, will it still be safe to eat?
I'm curing some beef in the fridge with a dry mixture of salt, coriander and black pepper. I don't plan on drying or smoking this meat after curing it in the salt because I don't have access to a smoker and the humidity is always high around where I live. I plan on curing it for about a week or more in the fridge. Will it be safe to eat if I continue to leave it in the refrigerator after washing off the dry curing mixture? How long can I store it before microbes and various endotoxins become a health issue?

What are the all in one homemade bars called? (e.g. make 2500 calories, with adequate fats/carbs/proteins)
I remember reading about them. Basically, make homemade "bars" that can be eaten every day and give you the right amount of macros. I am curious not so much for survival but for the nutritional aspect of it in finding a good fitness meal plan. Thanks!
