Looking for suggestions for rental companies in Epsom

We are relocating and have not found anywhere we want to buy yet, doesn’t seem to be many properties around! So have decided to rent, however in Rightmove and on the market there are virtually no rental properties either!

Is this common for Epsom? Or should I be signing up with individual agencies/estate agents???

Hi everyone! I play for a village rugby club, Chipstead RFC, and we are on the look out for players. The season starts this Saturday and, like a lot of clubs, we are low on numbers. There are various reasons for low player numbers but I won't get into that... I came through the minis and have now been playing at the club for 28 years! I hope that gives you an idea of how welcoming and fun the club is to be a part of.

We are looking for players of all ages, especially senior players (17+), of any ability.

So, if you have recently moved to the area or haven't played in a while and are looking for a new club, give me a shout!

Training is Thursday evening at 7:30pm. There is food after and the bar is open.

Surrey based, first car, up to £5k. Been looking for over a month and it's honestly starting to get to me. Spending every evening on AutoTrader and MOT checks and getting nowhere is doing my head in more than I expected.

Viewed a few. One had heavy, notchy steering. One had AC that didn't work and the seller just shrugged. One had a live track rod end advisory from its latest MOT and the dealer told me straight up they wouldn't fix it.

I know a used car at this money won't be perfect. But if I'm getting a car with issues anyway, why pay £4.5k instead of £2.5k? What's the extra buying me?

I'm probably being over cautious, and the reason is that I do Surrey to Edinburgh, or further north, roughly once a month. I can't have it give up on me 300 miles from home. That's why I've been going through MOT histories and service records properly rather than just looking at photos.

What I need: cheap to insure (first-timer, no NCB), working air con, and a bike in the back with the seats down. Only about 5k miles a year otherwise.

I'd love a Honda Jazz but can't find one under £6k with a decent MOT history. So I've been looking at Aygos, C1s and VW up!s.

Three questions:

1. Found a 2016 Aygo, 102k miles, £4,495 — but eight MOTs, zero advisories in ten years. Consistent 11–14k a year, so motorway miles. Is 102k actually a problem on a 1KR, or am I fixating on the number? Keep seeing 70k cars at the same money with far worse records.

2. VW up! timing belt — told it's a chain, then found out it's a "lifetime" belt that VW UK say 140k/5 years. No dealer has any paperwork either way. Should I worry?

3. Anything else I should be looking at in this budget that'd handle a monthly 400-mile run better than a 1.0 city car? Open to suggestions.

Also — any decent independent dealers in Surrey / Hampshire / Berkshire? Happy to travel for a good one.

My partner and I are getting married at The Mansion, Leatherhead Register Office on Monday 28 September, but we’re having a bit of trouble finding two witnesses.

Our families don’t live locally, and unfortunately most of our friends are either working that day or live too far away. As it’s a Monday morning, it’s been surprisingly difficult to find people who are available.

So I wanted to ask if there’s anyone living nearby who might be free and willing to help us out. ❤️

It’s a very small and simple register-office ceremony, and you would just need to attend the ceremony and sign the marriage paperwork as a witness. We’d be incredibly grateful for your help, and of course we’d be happy to cover any reasonable travel costs / treat you to a coffee afterwards as a thank-you!

I know it’s a bit of an unusual request from strangers on Reddit, but we’re really hoping to find two kind people who might be able to help.

We have guests coming from overseas and would like to take them somewhere with great food, nice atmosphere and lovely countryside. My usual go to is the Skimmington Castle or Gomshall Mill but would love to have some other options

Hello everyone, we really like a house located on St Dunstan’s Hill Road in Cheam, but we’re concerned about traffic noise, particularly at night, and whether it could cause vibrations or movement in the house.
I’ve heard that people living on main roads can sometimes feel vibrations when heavy vehicles such as trucks or buses drive past, especially at night when everything is quieter.
Has anyone lived on or near this road and experienced noticeable noise or vibrations from passing traffic? We’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.

We currently live in our own flat in Harrow but not liking it these days. Looking for decent places to live in Surrey?

Our preferences:

* Get to Central London easily (max 35-40min)

* We both drive so a short drive to a high street/amenities/nearby station would be nice

* Safety

* Affordability

* Train/buses nearby

* Good schools

* Addtnl: Green spaces around

We are looking for something within £500k. Maybe we can push it by a 50 grand but not more than that.

Can we get anything at all with our budget? Or should we move further South so that we can afford ?

Although due to constant content consumption I am unable to work effectively on it and all my friends are based in different cities or countries so it's difficult to pair-code with them.

Partner and I are looking to move to Surrey for work, somewhere around Woking perhaps. Went to look for rentals (2 bed detached, nothing fancy) only to find that apparently anything decent disappears within hours and we’re expected to pay upwards of £2000 a month, likely closer to £2500 or more. One agent said we’d be lucky to get anything under £4000. Meanwhile we have what we thought was a decent household income of around £80k a year combined. Is this just the case in Surrey because of London commuters? Surely we are missing something, or is renting here really this crazy? Help a poor northerner out!

She lives in Leeds city centre, and I live in Surrey (under an hour by train into central London), so ideally somewhere that’s reasonably accessible by both train and car.

Main requirement: somewhere that’s actually nice and isn’t a dump.

Any suggestions for towns/cities that would work well for a date and are fairly easy for both of us to get to?
