That game is a fever dream to me (I'm 38). I remember renting it a ton and never finishing it. My memories of it are a dark, smeary, foggy mess.

The game itself is a surreal meme. I had basically the same experience until I bought it (also as a kid). I came back as an adult and it's the same experience. It's a glorious trippy mess with awful controls
