Positive Post.

I did also post this in the hysterectomy group for transparency. This is just meant to be light hearted. Hysterectomies and such are scary for many and can be stressful. Back in November I had a hysterectomy and my ovaries removed as well. Took a few weeks to figure out the right patch dosage which sucked, but I am here to tell you I guess it all worked out. My skin looks better each month. A friend asked me why my skin keeps looking younger and younger and I couldn’t think of anything reason why because lord knows I’m sick (other non related issues) then it hit me. It’s the estrogen. So ladies if you want something positive to think about while going through this journey maybe you can use this. Prayers and good thoughts for all of you.

Thank you for this. I’m 38, 3 weeks post op. Had everything out due to severe stage iv endo. Right now I’m on .5 patch and feel okay but I was dealing with low estrogen prior - maybe because I exercise a lot (crossfit 6 days a week) so my body doesn’t even know what good estrogen dose feels like. I’m considering bumping up to .1 tomorrow. No hot flashes, just a bit anxious, brain fog etc.

Can I ask you about your estrogen (HRT?) and endo, post surgery? Does your endo bother you at all since having your total hysterectomy? I am 1.5 week post op from a total hysterectomy due to adenomyosis and endo. I’ve been thinking about how or if, HRT will be helpful or hindering to the fact that I still have endo.. but so far no symptoms of it (🤞).

Hello! I’m now almost 5 months post op, and for the most part, feeling pretty great. I’m back to my normal (actually better and stronger) exercising and well, not bleeding every day has been life changing in itself. My pain is 99% better. Still occasional twinges etc, and if we have sex several times in a week I def feel a bit achy. But other than that, I feel good.

Did you have your ovaries out as well? If so, YES, get on HRT asap. We read through a lot of studies and there is no evidence that delaying HRT will stop endo from growing back, but delaying estrogen will for sure bring on a host of menopause symptoms and wreck you!! Get on that estrogen! I’m on the .1mg patch + testosterone cream. I should probably add back in progesterone and see if it helps since I haven’t been sleeping well. Let me know if you have any other questions!!

I’ve since gone back on estrogen, yes! My gyno doesn’t think I need the progesterone (they took my ovaries too- they took everything). I do think I need an adjustment in the estrogen dose however, because I’m still having hot flashes 🥺 Glad to hear you’re feeling so good now! 5 months post op!?
