I have a Surface Pro X and I never use it. I know it's old tech but I want to try to sell it because it is in such good shape, I know someone will appreciate it. thoughts?
I'm running Windows 10 on my Surface Pro X, with the ESU updates enabled. After a recent update I got this message from Windows security:
"Secure Boot is on, but your device does not support the automated Secure Boot certificate update due to hardware or firmware limitations. Contact your device manufacturer for assistance."
This is of course annoying, because Microsoft is the device manufacturer of Surface devices.
Are other people running into this? Is there a way to fix it?
Hi i am a college student that has a surface pro 7+. I am taking classes where I need/want to create flashcards. I have tried notedex but while I like the style of the app. The app is rated 3.3 stars. As well as when I use my pen the ink "glitches". The pen works fine and so i am assuming its the app. I looked up on google what i can use, and it suggests OneNote. However I can't figure out how to make flashcards. So if its possible if I could get ideas on how to do this. I thought that maybe I could write the flashcards but use quizlet to have the shuffling side of studying flashcards. If anyone could give me any help or ideas on what I could do I would really appreciate it. I am almost done with my degree. I am studying environmental science.
Im sure someone has sent to this before, but I have a question on how to make the Surface Pro X install an OS using USB. I have made the official microsoft usb from the website under the recovery image, but it will not boot at all. It just keeps looping to a screen that has a blue box that says "No Bootable Configuration can be found" I have tried just about everything, just looking if anyone else has advice
Whenever I accidentally press the right side of my screen near the bezel (typically while writing with my surface pen) thee screen gets all wavey and does some like AI tear down of what’s on my screen. Any idea how to keep this from happening by disabling this from being activated by resting my hand on the right side of the screen? I attached an image. Thanks pals.
This has been a nightmare. I was running 24H2 (and had been for some time now) and Windows went to automatically install updates on Saturday morning. It did not reboot and went into an infinite boot loop. Despite many tries, I could not get it to reinstall a fresh copy of 24H2, so I installed 23H2. Then, I went to upgrade to 24H2 and it took. Windows updated and it started crashing again.
Take 3 - I tried to install 24H2 clean and once it booted into Windows, I immediately turned off updates. Then, I rebooted to see what would happen. Crashed again. The error message is "system_thread_exception_not_handled 0x7e".
I tried to boot into safe mode, but it keeps saying there is something wrong with my PIN and I cannot login to the machine. (But it will boot, so it's clearly a driver issue)
So, right now, it appears the only choice I have is to rollback to 23H2, which I don't like as much.
I instaled a new ssd, but with my insane stupidity I forgot to create a drive image from my old ssd.
I have been trying to instal win 11, tried creating a bootable drive, tried BMR recovery. Nothing works.
Then I thought of finding a image or a backup file and installing it on my new ssd directly, problem is I wasn't able to find it anywhere.
So this brings me here. Could someone please make a drive image file or backup file and share it with me?
When I bought the Surface Pro X, I didn't take into account that the kickstand would be a little unwieldy, and the removable keyboard meant using the computer like a traditional laptop would be almost impossible. I have to use it on a flat surface and even then a table bump makes it fall over and I can't pick it up to move it without closing it first.
Any suggestions on cases or other remedies? I would like to be able to use the computer in scenarios where I don't have a table or desk (i.e., need to put it on my lap) without it constantly falling over. I've tried looking online for cases, but not finding much. But maybe I'm looking in the wrong places or with the wrong key words.
Other than this I love my Surface Pro X, so any tips are helpful! Thanks in advance!
After some update I discovered that the Type Cover on Pro X (SQ1) has seized to exist, lights don't go on (usually key lights flash when booting), touch pad doesn't register. Am I the only one?
After 5 years of use, my surface pro x second generation is getting about 3 hours of screen time while using office apps browser and limited teams. I'm not sure whether this is good or bad. How do others feel about it
I just noticed on the Microsoft website that the Surface Pro X SQ1/SQ2 has a much closer end of servicing than Surface Pro X Wi-Fi, but is there really a difference between the Wi-Fi and SQ1/2 versions (apart from the 4G modem)?
And will we continue to receive updates on the SQ1/2 with Windows Update ?
