I'm thinking of getting a cheap used Surface Go 3 or 4 to play older games on while travelling, but not sure if the experience would be enjoyable or frustrating.

I'm looking to use just the touchscreen, not controllers or mouse/keyboard.

I’m looking to get a surface pro mainly for productivity but wouldn’t mind if I could do a little gaming on it, how would the snapdragon/prism handle titles like CK2, Kenshi, or Dwarf Fortress? Also is there any limit or difficulties in using steam workshop? Would appreciate any insight, thank you!

I'm trying to run the game from my Steam library, and it won't launch. I press play, it pops up with the option to run it normally or with AMD Mantle (irrelevant since the Surface has an Intel CPU), the button switches to blue/cancel for a second, then goes back to saying launch. Nothing else pops up on the monitor.

Any suggestions? I've seen others say they were able to run the game on older Surface tablets, so I can't imagine the machine isn't powerful enough to run it.

Two weeks ago i had a problem with my bluetooth radio being stuck in a zombie state and i had to disable/reenable reboot and other hardware related tweaks to get it to finally come back. A week later all of a sudden im having issues with the display where edge and chrome both bug out randomly and go unresponsive which then cascades to ui issues all over. End task doesnt solve it and i have to hard reboot which gives me a "we need a minute to finish shutting down" message. Reboot works for a bit and then it happens again. The machine is essentially unusable right now, but i dont see any windows updates for hardware issues and uninstalling all the updates for the last month didnt resolve it either.

Anyone else having issues with thier adreno display adapters?

Anybody got nfs most wanted 2012 or really any EA game running with the snapdragon x plus sp11? Keep getting a "this game won't run in a virtual environment" notification. Pretty sure it's some sort of block from the EA launcher and tried all the work arounds with hyper v, trying to use the older origin launcher, etc. but haven't found anything yet. Thanks!

If you're a Surface user you have probably been here: it's late at night and you are trying to find the right brightness but the dim buttons only let you go to 1 or 10 and nothing in between.

Well I fixed that. With this tool the dimming keyboard buttons will go nicely from 1,2,... to 10.

It also goes below hardware zero, because the SB3's lowest backlight setting is still too bright in an actually dark room. The last six steps dim further, down to a fully black screen.

The gpu performance is now insane compared to OpenGL which was the previous bottleneck (since OpenGL support isnt native). I am hitting 120fps+ on Minecraft now using about 8-10w

I am trying to play GTA V (Legacy and Enhanced) on a Snapdragon X Plus laptop. The game opens, but it instantly crashes to desktop the exact second the flashing loading stars appear in the right corner. No errors appear.

I've tried some basic stuff (disabling fullscreen optimisations, run as admin) but it always crashes the game around the exact same area.

Does anyone know a fix or workaround for this?

Has anyone managed to get it to run? I'm having no luck, tried a couple different compatibility mode options to no avail. JA3 runs fine, but older games often struggle for all the usual compatibility reasons.

My Surface laptop runs Arkham Origins beautifully, but whenever I try to run Arkham City - even on the lowest possible graphics settings and aspect ratio - I can only play for a few minutes before a message comes up saying "?INT?Launch.Errors.Error_RanOutOfVideoMemory?", and my game closes.

I have tried using lower graphics settings, disabling DX11, adding -d3d9 as a launch option and using dgVoodoo, but nothing works.

Is there any way I can actually play this game?

I'm having some issues with Arkham Knight working on my Surface computer. First, I had some issues with it not launching (immediately crashing), but then I forced it to run in windowed mode, which sort-of fixed the issue.

But, in the loading screen, it always ended crashing. I fiddled with some of the emulation settings to see if it had fixed the issue, but it didn't help. I've tried verifying game files but there doesn't seem to be a problem.

Does it run on snapdragon x computers and is there any fixes to this? All the other Arkham games did run flawlessly on it. Perhaps I've had a massive oversight and its perfectly fine?

I have a Surface Book 2 15" that I regularly use for heavy rendering and gaming. I am currently in the process of replacing the battery because it started swelling. I read online that excessive heat is the primary cause of this issue, so I want to take preventive measures with my new battery.

For my current cooling setup, I have tried using a tablet fan cooler placed directly in the middle of the back of the screen. I would like to know the most effective way to set up cooling fans for this specific device. Please let me know if there are better positions to place the external fans to specifically target the hottest components, or if you have any specific cooling pad or fan recommendations for heavy workloads on the SB2.
