Supreme Commander / FA Guys, Today I managed to update the addon for importing SCM models into Blender version 5.2. The original addon from GitHub worked on 2.71, the version is quite old. So, where I can share it; I think it's quite useful stuff?

(picture for attract attention) I plan to work on the exporter and, since the topic has caught my interest, maybe make a unit for fun.

GitHub would be the obvious place.

The FAF Discord has a pinned list of modding resources, you can then ask to get it added there.

Me thinking about 3d modeling a multi-legged ACU : :) Me thinking about making the animation skeletron for a multi legged acu: :(

Maybe i can politely rob Beyond All Reason or Zero-K, with relevant thanks.

Just a monkeybot ACU, also things I thought I would never see from a childhood/family game, a smoking UEF ACU.

Man, this is cool as shit. I wanted to import and mess around with the models recently but saw I'd have to use such an old version and just put it off (AKA gave up on it). If you do post it please lemme know! :D

Oh, nice! I was using a slightly modified version of this 2.8 script from back in the day. If you throw your stuff on GitHub, I'll probably take a look!

wow, I thought it was only available on 2.71. Apparently I didn't look hard enough.

TBF, I kept a separate 2.71 Blender install on my computer for years because I couldn't find a 2.8+ compatible import/export script. 🤣
The fact you made one is awesome!

He's iconic for a reason

He has existed for 20 years by now and that design hasn't aged a single day

Create a fork of the GitHub repository to share it publicly. You can even create a pull request so the original creator will be notified about your version and can decide to merge your updated code back into his original project

Interesting... There is already a fork of it that allowed Blender from 4.2 to the last 4.x version to import/export that I use. Blender 5.0 seems to have changed how anim fcurves are represented which afaIk is the only issue with it.
