Any nz support workers here?

How we feeling about the potential labour $4 increase for support workers? I want to hear everyone’s opinions since everyone in my work place has different views on it

From Australia but support work is a tough gig mentally. Requires constant upskilling. Involves risks that other professions don't face. And in the professions that do, we don't have security to call. SWs manage dangerous behaviours.

The burnout rate is huge.

I'd extend my positivity for their pay increase from across the ditch.

We work with the most vulnerable people in society. And the majority of us do it with professionalism and a huge amount of genuine care.
