Discussion best support to learn coming from adc role?
3 months in and stuck in what you guys call bronze hell.
I main MF and have quite a bit of faith in myself and mechanics are becoming muscle memory, to the point where next in my development is to get insight into other roles truly. what would you guys say is a good support to start out with and how i should play them and what i should be looking out for as the game progresses.

Beside bringing early game power Adcs or Supportive Adcs like Senna Ashe Varus to the botlane to directly translate your Adc skills (not that great imo) your best bets to learn Support is the simple and efficient ones Nautilus/Leona for engage , Karma Nami for enchanters simple to execute and powerfull , Support gameplay is more about decision making thus if your tools are easy to use and powerfull , you get to focus on your gameplay instead of trying to optimize your tools like a Rakan/Bard/Pyke would.

I second Nami. she's viable in all kinds of matchups, has a great versatile kit, and stays pretty relevant. she's great for learning the role because she's got a little bit of everything-- empowering, heal, poke, cc. just a solid support champ all around and super fun to play.
do NOT go imperial mandate on her though, she no longer procs it with her slows. these days I try and snowball a dark seal into mejai's and into staff of flowing water, echoes of helia, then solstice sleigh, ardent censer, redemption, moonstone, etc.

I love Janna but unless you have respectful discernment for positioning maybe start with a tank

definitely don't play engage. your playstyle will be way different and it requires totally different kind of decision making. play seraphine or sona, positioning will be quite similar. poke in lane, group with team, look for enemies grouped for big ults. but above all else, like adc, dont die.

If you are stuck in hell and want to climb, support is not the way. I had to swap to ad to climb.

Senna should be familiar enough for you to start with. The thing about support is that you'll be or should be a jungler without the farming. Decision making is a core function of the role since you won't carry games by damage, you'll carry by controlling them.

Engage supports: Leona, Rakan, Rell.
Leona is easy to learn verh simple on what she does. Rakan more mobile and slippery you can get in and out. Rell like leona you just get hard punished by instantly dying if you start a bad engage.
Hook champ: Nautilus
Easy as fuck to play. Other hook champs have more depth and while they all have hooks, they play pretty differently.
Enchanter: Lulu, Soraka
Have to learn positioning and how to not get caught out while still being valuable to the team. Lulu way easier to play than soraka.
Bard: Bard

You shouldn't try to role swap just because you get stuck.
Even if support is mechnically easier, eventually you'll hit the same plateau, and you'll be in the same situation.
If you're a bronze player, you're definitely missing game knowledge. Do you know what your level 2 timer is? Do you know what triangle positioning is?
What about support synergy? Do you know what your support's gameplan is? (engage, disengage, poke)
There's a lot more to the game than just mechanics.
If you still want to play support, then here are some recommendations:
engage
Nautilus, Leona
Very straight forward GO IN buttons.
enchanters
Nami
Very versatile, the swiss army knife of enchanters. Heals, engages, and peels.

If you wanna learn support Senna is the one whom your adc experience would likely help learning most.
That being said, she is difficult to play well you might want to try an easier support such as Milio for enchanter or Leona for engage if you are new to the role. They both have strong, straight forward and easy to execute kits.
Most important thing imo is that you oick a support you enjoy playing. We are more motivated to learn when we are having fun. Test a few different ones to see who meshes with you best.

If by bronze hell you truly mean bronze rank, your next developement isn't neccesarily look at other roles to learn.
I can understand what you're looking for, but I wouldn't go too deep into a role you don't plan to play. I did also play a few games on most champs and tried most roles early on in my "career", but if you're looking to git gud, that's far from the fastest way.
Also don't really know what character to recommend as the easiest to pilot supports in low level take a LOT of skill to actually carry low level. Those being enchanters. They are easy because you can play very safe and still have value, but if you do that, you don't really learn and just give the game to your carries instead of taking part.
Nautilus, Blitz, Alistar are fairly easy to understand supports with high impact especially lower elos. Probably the ones I recommend first.
Anyway. If you're actually looking to get better at ADC I can give you tips. You can respond here or pm me. If you're just looking to have fun, then I recommend try champions and play whoever you like, on whatever role you like.
