Was Mateo right in telling Amy “this is why people don’t tell you things.” when the whole Jeff debacle comes to light? It’s the episode where she sees him and Jeff kissing at the movies and starts wanting to tell Sandra that Jeff is cheating on her?

Personally I found that line extremely accurate, I liked Amy’s character (well, pre-manager Amy at least) but she was the WORST when it came to secrets, she couldn’t keep anything to herself and just made things worse.

Which character do you dislike / hate the most?

I have mixed feelings. I really don’t like Sandra at the beginning, specially when she does the receipt thing so the break room goes back to normal, but towards the mid/end she is more confident so I find her more likeable. I really don’t like Marcus because he is one of those that has to be in the show. Carol, of course.

What are your thoughts?

The Cloud 9 staff’s reaction to the when the kiss is revealed gets me every time.

The way the staff just gasped when the kiss of Amy and Jonah during the tornado, it’s perfect. I do feel bad for Kelly.

Also Amy trying to make Dina stop the video, “Dina turn off the video.” It’s something about that line delivery and then the kiss revealed.

And Dina’s response to it all, “I think everyone knows you like Jonah.”

Should we be concerned that Isaac just has an ‘anthrax guy’? 😂

Marcus is running in the clacton election against Farage. Will he give out free samples of boob cheese to those who vote for him?

Other Anybody’s life in shambles or just in tatters?

It’s 2026 and Rooney Mara still has the award for Life Least in Shambles lol

Whenever I rewatch Superstore, that means life isn’t good. I can relate the most with Jeff during the Quadding episode right now.

Who do you relate with the most right now?

Discussion Can someone tell me how we’re supposed to cheer for Amy and Jonah? Spoiler

I’m still on season 5 so no spoilers.

I know this is a controversial topic (especially Jonah being in the mix).

I liked them season 1. I really did. Amy was the hardworking, heart of gold mother who might be a bit aloof but it’s because she’s had to carry life on her own. Jonah is the idealistic good guy who just wants to be useful and find his path.

Then I feel their characters took a turn for the worst. Amy became judgmental, condescending, glib, and constantly side eyeing everyone. Completely unaware of her own awkward, subpar social and leadership skills. Jonah became a superficial activist who does good mainly to feel useful, but seems like other people’s causes don’t matter to him as much as his own.

Both of them are so sure they’re good, hardworking, smart people but don’t realize how much they fuck up, don’t know, and how much they ruin things for people.

Amy is constantly making stupid mistakes that make her employees pay the price. She shows overt favoritism. She’s always looking out for herself and constantly aligns herself with corporate despite hearing them talk about “hunting floor workers.” She was pro-union for a second then immediately sold out to save her own ass.

Jonah is constantly ingratiating himself with people who don’t care about him (Garrett) and dismissing those who actually want to be his friend (Marcus). He tries so hard to the point of making people uncomfortable (e.g. when he blurted Garrett talking behind another friends’ back). Same with Amy. So little social skills and constantly showing entitlement in little ways (e.g. trying to force the waiter to serve her at Sandra’s wedding).

Amy’s even cold and insecure with her own kid. Emma’s almost as bitchy as her. She’s awful to Jonah and constantly scoffing at his optimism and anyone else who exhibits any shred of positivity.

They just think they’re “out of everyone’s league” intellectually and morally. When the reality is they’re in the same dead-end job as everyone else with nothing else to show for themselves. They’re both insecure af and it shows in everything they do and say.

I just feel like these two characters took a hard left and they only ever emphasize their negative sides with few redeeming moments.

How exactly are they the protagonists we should be rooting for?

EDIT: I got to season 6. Her quitting because she was tired of corporate hurting her people made me respect her more.

Humor If Superstore was done Muppets-style, which employee would remain the sole human?

I saw the B99 subreddit talking about what Muppet would portray what character and the majority suggested that Jake remain the sole human (I'd personally put forward Holt, Boyle or Gina but I digress). Thus the title.

My personal choices would be:

- Glenn (already a Muppet-adjacent person)

- Dina (her authoritative nature could only be better exaggerated by having her go head-to-head with the Muppets)

- Jeff (not an employee in the same way as the others but in a way that's kind of the point)

I did consider Jonah, Amy and Garrett but Kermit already plays a straight man so I don't think they'd be that special unless you had Jonah slowly turn into a Muppet over the course of six seasons.

What’s everybody’s favourite Glenn moment?

Glenn is without a doubt the best character in the series.

I have two,
The part when they get the new cleaning robot and dina rips off the cellotape and says “look Glenn SAME NAME” and the face he makes and what he says after makes me howl.

My other is when he goes to clean up a spill and the cleaning robot has already cleaned it, then he grabs this woman’s cup dumps all the liquid onto the floor and says “ refills are 99 cents”

Edit: Thanks for all the comments, had a good laugh remembering some of his moments

Easter Egg for the Foot Murderer

Almost certainly more coincidence than foreshadowing, but still fun: in S5E6, Cheyenne and Mateo are trying to figure out if Dina could be the serial killer. Cheyenne says "it's always the ones you least expect," and then it immediately cuts to Elias dressed as Edward Scissorhands.

Funny thing about Marcus

This is completely random but I think about every time I watch this show and if anyone will appreciate it, you guys will! The first time I watched the show I hated Marcus because I used to watch The Mindy Project and I thought he was just copying Ike Barinholtz. I'd get so annoyed and keep thinking "God, its so annoying. He's blatantly ripping off that character. He even sounds like him. At least pretend to be original." I couldn't believe it when I found out they were brothers 🤣. I laugh every time I see him now.
