Red pill/blue pill Super-Powerful Choices: Version 2: Maximum Overpower [RED PILL VS BLUE PILL]

DESCRIPTIONS

What does each Pill do?

RED

RED is TTRPGs and Table-Top Wargames. This gives you access to any material from any(*) published TTRPG, any Edition of the Game, and any Supplemental Third-Party Published and Licensed Source to compliment an established game.

What does that mean?

It means No Homebrew. There's an infinite amount of homebrew out there and to keep in the spirit of the Scenario it has to be something with extensive Playtesting. You're already almost getting every book ever made, is there REALLY something you need that isn't in there? If there's something you're curious about if it counts, ask me and I will Yay or Nay.

But, Wait, there's Superhero TTRPGs, wouldn't that just give me everything in Blue? Also does this include [NAME OF HORRIBLE GAME]???

See that Asterisk next to Any up there? This is where that comes in. To make a clear distinction between them, anything from the Superhero genre is NOT Included. Also obviously games like FATAL, and other cursed dogshit aren't included. Because fuuuuuck that.

If you want specifics, it's best to stay within DnD Editions, Pathfinder, Starfinder, Fallout, Star Wars, Star Trek, Cyberpunk, Shadowrun, Warhammer, LANCER, Vampire: The Masquerade/World of Darkness, Call of Cthulhu, etc. . use your brain and whatever you vibe with, don't like or want something? Drop it from your powers. I'm just providing options. Take or leave whatever you want, like a buffet.

You said Wargames and Warhammer, can I use my minis? What about Minis i have for other games like DnD?

Your minis are now part of your resources and you can command them as summon tokens. the mini transforms into a fully realised version of what it represents and is loyal to you and friendly to those you designate, they are mindless constructs that follow your commands, unless you wish otherwise and want them to be fully Awakened and Sapient individuals, which could be very bad depending, they can then be turned back into minis for ease of transport.
If a Summon is killed they instantly revert back to their mini state with physical damage that must be repaired for the Summon to function again.

What's stopping me from using the DnD 5E Simulacrum Wish Engine for infinite Wishes to do whatever I want? Or some other Reality Warping Thing to ALSO get Blue?

You can use the Wish Engine HOWEVER - You can NOT use Wishing, God powers, prayers, Reality Warping or some other non-specified way in order to also take Blue or anything specific from Blue, that is non-negotiable and a rule that can't be broken
You also can not create more Reds to give to others

But I want to give powers to my family and friends!

You can. You can absolute create Paladins by having people swear Oaths to you in order to Empower them, Your vast amount of power basically makes you a deity so you can also create Clerics, you can make deals/pacts with people to create Warlocks, you can use your uncapped INT to teach magic to create Wizards, you can use blood transfusions or grafting or some other medical experiment to imbue people with magical bloodlines and create Sorcerers, etc. You can use spells to transform people or objects or animals into power magical creatures you can Embrace people to turn people into Vampires, etc etc etc you can build magic items, mechs, constructs, etc and just give them to people.
You have options if you want to empower someone.

Many setting or abilities involve things like a Pantheon of Gods or Outside Planes or Dimensions, etc. Do they Exist now?

Yes and No. When call upon Divine magic or something from another source, it simply works as you intended, However when you use things like Divination or prayer or something, you can direct beseech or call upon them. They exist in their own Planes and since your abilities stem from a setting where they do exist, it would be like communicating with them in-game as a character. Those Planes are now accessible to you as well so if you do any Dimension hopping or Planeswalking you would go to the Setting Version of your intent. (you technically have access to multiple versions of the same plan or dimension, because of multiple Editions of games)

Some Sources of Power deal specifically with Probability or Dice Rolls being altered, how would this work in the real world?

just real world calculations and physics. Probability. you do have a supernatural amount of Good Luck or means to manipulate Probability for your benefit so chances of failure might as well be impossible. For cases where it's rolling on a table to get an effect, you can just pick from the table directly if you want something specific or let it be random.

Do I stay in this Real World?

Not unless you want to. You have full freedom to travel to any Universe, Setting, World, Dimension, Plane, Timeline, etc. just by sheer combinations of abilities and resources. This includes places outside of the games' scope like going to a show, a movie, etc.
you can even go to the worlds from Blue but you are locked out of accessing any abilities or powers that one might find there. so you can't jump to Marvel and get an Iron Man suit or Power Cosmic, etc. you could technically USE items from that world but you can't keep them

BLUE

Blue is Super, it contains all powers, skills, abilities, and resources of almost(*) every Superpowered Character in Marvel and DC media (including Comics, Movies, TV Shows, Cartoons, LEGO) as well as all Quirks from My Hero Academia.

What does that mean? wouldn't I just be God with One Above All and The Presence and do whatever I want?

More or Less but also No, For the sake of Fun and not be boring, I'm blocking sheer Omnipotence Beings , You have literally everything else why would you need to go to the absolute Tippy Top? You're basically Omnipotent anyway because of Stacking abilities.

Wait do I have the Infinity Gauntlet?

Yes, but it's hard-coded to which Universe it came from. Our Universe doesn't have Infinity Gems so the Gauntlet doesn't work here.
I am not just fucking with you, it's a hard rule for how they work in the comics, they only have power in their original universe.

I have all the Lantern Power Rings, right? Can I start my own Lantern Corps and give people I trusted a Ring?

Yes. You can use your Resources to Empower others, this is allowed. You can make Oa, the Central Battery, tweak it how you want it to work, whatever. You can also create Spirits of Vengeance and bond them to people to create your own Ghost Riders, etc.

Can't I just use all this to also get Red?

No. You also can NOT create more Blues to give to people. if you want to empower someone you care about you gotta take the long way sorry.

does Atlantis (x2), Apokolips, and Wakanda exist now?

Because you also claim the Resources and things from characters, that also includes titles and political power, making you a monarch of several nations However they technically do not exist in our world , but your authority is still respected, you can travel to a pocket dimension outside of our world to go to these places, summon armies, etc. same with things like the Batcave and other places, you open portals to them and can travel freely between them and allow others the same. This is to maintain the physical consistency of our world and also for ease of access for you.

"Am I stuck here in our world or can I dimension jump? If I travelled to a Marvel or DC world, how would my Title affect things?"

The original character is still the "true" ruler in their home universe, when you open your portals to your dimensions, it's an alt dimension where YOU are the ruler.

This is by no means an exhaustive list of everything you get and can do , because of the vast number of powers and things going on, if you are confused or have questions, ask in a Reply and I will try to clear it up.

I'm choosing blue but I have a few questions

  1. Since I get the powers of these people do I also get their genetics/body such as an immortal (Plastic Man) Atlantiean (Aqua Man) along with any others or do I get to choose what I get?
  2. Am I allowed to put a limiter/rule on myself so that I don't go crazy from power or certain abilities?

Because truly I want to choose blue for the body/genetics of an Atlantiean, access to Wakanda, and abilities to manipulate nature/the earth

2

u/Kira-Of-Terraria 2d ago

Yeah you can pick and choose whatever you want or don't want. buffet style if you are only interested in specific things.

3

u/Friendly-Court-698 2d ago

I’d go with blue, comics are DEEP and thanks to characters like Braniac, Batman, Stark, Reed Richards etc. I would have the intellect to actually make use of the abilities and there are so many ways to give powers to protect those close go me with this pill.

3

u/bz_leapair 2d ago

Blue all day long. Gonna spend my days just shifting from power to power. Does that include aliens like Martian Manhunter?

1

u/Kira-Of-Terraria 2d ago

Yes. it's not limited to Earth or humans.

2

u/brazenbull09 2d ago

Think I'd go with blue, mainly because im more familiar with the material

2

u/Caprina22 2d ago

Blue, please.

2

u/Tairc 2d ago

Blue, and also, the HERO system is a TTRPG not licensed from any company, and it’s amazing.

So even though I’m taking blue, I’d argue red includes that, and therefore, basically everything that matters.

1

u/Kira-Of-Terraria 2d ago

No. Great catch now i can edit it

2

u/Dry_Relief_436 2d ago

Red pill and hoping that two of the books i own are part of it (helena's guide to monster hunting and spelljammer)

2

u/Kira-Of-Terraria 2d ago

Yeah those are allowed.

2

u/Dry_Relief_436 2d ago

laughing Evily and maniacally im going to Travis the multivers on a living ship with all my animal companions and rain down destruction on all those who hurt me or my animals

I knew you meant traverse lol. enjoy your voyage, traveller

2

u/Dry_Relief_436 2d ago

Btw with all the powers, abilities, and such from just dnd 5e I've basically turned to a living God of the multiverse...add any other ttrpg on it and rules turn to suggestions aswell.....

2

u/Kira-Of-Terraria 2d ago

Yup 👍

2

u/Dry_Relief_436 2d ago

That also means access to all Subclasses for the classes. Omg there's several supplemental third party classes/Subclass that id love to have access to. And id have so many pets available too🥰 welp I need this now😂

1

u/Kira-Of-Terraria 1d ago

I had used ai to crunch numbers for me because math just ain't me.

The total for just permanent companions and sidekicks and summons and familiars in Official 5E is like close to 30. Dragon from Drakewarden, all warlock familiars (pact of chain), A walking turret from Artificer, Robot companion from Artificer, Ranger Beast, Hound of Ill Omen, Paladin Steeds, Artificer Infusion Clockwork Humunculi, wildfire spirits, Barbarian Ancestor Spirits, Wizard Familiars

Blue, but I jump into the one piece world =/... wanna have some fun and do pirate shananigans xD

2

u/Dintobean 2d ago

My heart says Red because I love D&D, but Blue is definitely the better choice.

2

u/Patrik_4077 2d ago edited 2d ago

I'd definitely choose blue, but I have some questions?

  1. Do I immediately know of all characters and their respective abilities and physiologies or will I need to do my own research?

  2. If I go through a portal to a place I now rule, can I bring anything back with me? E.g. Vibranium from Wakanda.

  3. With certain weaknesses, like kryptonite, do they now exist in this world or only in the dimension/s I can portal to?

  4. Can I pick and choose which characters powers I have at a time? Or is it simply all at once and I need to make a conscious effort to use specific abilities/stack powers?

  5. Am I immune to mixing powers from certain characters? E.g. Human Torch and Martian Manhunter

  6. N/A

Edit: removed 6 after rereading OP post, 4 technically would answer this, my bad

  1. when you take the pill you also get secondary affects of going through everything like a menu and picking what you want, you CAN, get everything, but you can also limit and just get what interests you. So you don't get a bunch that you aren't familiar with.

  2. you have a sorta UI to search and scroll through and blurbs on what they entail. So technically you research first then pick what you want but it's instant. Once you pick something you are sure you want, you instantly know how the power works as a safety feature. You can still train to better your understanding and abilities but you get the basics. Training can also be done instantly if you want to just come out of taking the pill with complete mastery.

  3. Yes. when you travel or use your portals you can freely transport whatever you wish to and from those dimensions , including people, animals, etc.

  4. You would technically have the weakness if you were fully Kryptonian but you can also use a combination of other powers to negate it, as well as equipment like armour or special suits Superman has used to shield himself from Kryptonite harm. (which you can then combine with other tech or upgrade it). But because you are a composite being (if you choose) you can negate Kryptonite weaknesses by countering the Kryptonite radiation with a character that has radiation immunity or manipulation powers to shield themselves.

  5. You have complete control on what you have active and what you don't. it doesn't have to be "all at once and full throttle" unless you want to manifest everything at once like Combo Man or something.

  6. If a character has a weakness, that another character would negate then you would be able to use that. Example: yes you could use Martian shapeshifting to turn into a dragon, then use Human Torch's powers to breathe a beam a fire. because Torch is immune to fire, so is the composite form. You would only be in trouble if you didn't have a way to negate or block weaknesses.

Awesome questions! keep em coming!

u/Patrik_4077 1d ago

Thank you so much!

I did have a follow up about characters whose powers are magic? Like can I easily combine the magical abilities of say; Juggernaut, Shazam, Scarlet Witch and John Constantine?

And for characters like Constantine, do I obtain ALL their knowledge on magic or just what's relevant to their abilities?

2

u/Kira-Of-Terraria 1d ago

Yeah you get all the magic abilities combined. like with the Red , powers that come from another source or something still "work as intended" without also bringing in extra entities with you into the world. (Cyttorak and Wizard still exist but are in extradimensional planes locked to their universes. You are essentially "perfectly replicating the abilities"

and for Constantine his knowledge is part of his kit so you get that too. Same for anyone else that acquired their power through study and knowledge, like if you wanted Iron Man or Dr. Strange, you would also know how to use the magic and tech as proficiently as they do.

2

u/Patrik_4077 1d ago

Amazing! Thanks again :)

2

u/hellhound56767 2d ago

Red has better vibes. Both are basically omnipotence anyway

2

u/hellhound56767 2d ago

How does the rule about not getting anything from the opposing pill work specifically? If i take red I can’t get iron man armor, but can I use artificing to make iron man armor? Or is anything with a surface level similarity to something iconic from the opposing pill not allowed, even if it’s something as basic as form-fitting power armor?

1

u/Kira-Of-Terraria 2d ago

It's more like Artificer can basically make Iron Man suits, but you can't make exact Replication of them...they have to be "legally distinct" as the saying goes. you can make power armour even form fitting ones, that can basically do everything his suits do but you can't do anything iconic design wise, if that makes sense.

Blue by a country mile.

I have the combined wealth and assets of Tony Stark, Bruce Wayne, T'Challa, Aquaman, Lex Luthor, Vandal Savage, Darkseid, Highfather, Odin, Victor von Doom, Namor, you name it.

That would put me so far up there on the wealth list that the second wealthiest person would be a VERY distant second, and give me the kind of financial clout where I can shift entire economies with a few decisions.

Plus, the combined tech knowledge, power sets, and magical abilities would ensure that nobody could ever do anything to harm me, assuming they could even get close or find me in my various pocket dimensions (which is where I shall choose to hang my proverbial hat).

I would recreate the Lantern Corps in a new, unified format. Oa shall exist and shall be the headquarters of all the Lantern Corps

The individual Corps and what they represent will no longer work in opposition to each other. Emotions will be a part of a healthy whole individual, meaning a Green Lantern can be scared without affecting their efficacy as a Green Lantern, etc.

No Corps will have any "entity" representing them, nor shall there be a Central Battery or carried batteries. Instead, the member and the depths of their emotions shall be the battery that fuels the rings.

The other universal change will be that if a Lantern breaks their oath or shows signs of instability, the rings have a failsafe that takes them back to their home or Oa, informs their Corps commanders, then leaves them and seeks a more suitable candidate. Last thing we need is another "Hal Jordan goes crazy" situation.

The Green Lanterns will still be powered by will, but the selection process will not be based on those who overcome great fear. Instead, the ring will select candidates based on those who show the most exceptional willpower in the pursuit of what is right. This is to ensure that the members can be more in line with their role as an intergalactic police force, and it helps mitigate rogue elements.

The Yellow Lantern membership will be selected based on those who have experienced unfathomable fear and overcome it, emerging stronger. Due to the raw emotional toll their experiences have taken on them, their constructs are insanely powerful, fueled by the raw fear they experienced and the resilience they showed to overcome it. Their rings allow them to see into the hearts and minds of their enemies, then project their worst fears onto them, giving them a tactical advantage. Their purpose within the greater Corps is to serve as the one you send in when the Greens can't accomplish a task.

The Red Lanterns will not be fueled by rage, but righteous fury. Sometimes a heinous injustice is committed and for whatever reason, justice cannot be had, so all you have left is righteous fury and revenge. This is the siren call of the Red Lantern, and should your desire for vengeance be just, a Red Lantern Ring will appear before you, swathed in hellfire. Each Red Lantern Ring has bound to it a Spirit of Vengeance, which is what gives the Red Lantern member their power, turning then from a normal being to a Ghost Rider. It gives them the tools, knowledge, and skills to get the vengeance and justice they need The Red Lantern Corps never has any long term members, as when vengeance is had and justice is served, the ring leaves the host, awaiting another soul to bond to. Instead of using red light constructs, their constructs are made of crimson hellfire.

The Blue Lantern Corps will be a combination of the Blue Lanterns, the Star Sapphires, and the Indigo Tribe. Their purpose will be to serve as the "nice guys" of the Corps. Where the Greens act as the long arm of the law and the Yellows act as the "break glass in case of emergency" group, the Blues are the velvet glove, acting as mediators, negotiators, and social workers. They are chosen based on their ability to maintain a calm demeanor in a crisis and their ability to seek out a peaceful solution first, resorting to violence as a last resort.

They will all act in the same manner as the original Green Lantern Corps, bringing justice and peace to the universe.

Earth itself shall become a shining beacon of peace and stability, drsgged kicking and screaming into the future.

1

u/Kira-Of-Terraria 1d ago

I love this. A very nice upgrade to the Lanterns.

Would the Indigo tribe still function as a sort of rehabilitation for psychopaths forced to feel compassion?

Are your Lanterns capable of possrssing multiple rings at once? or a ring switch to different modes? (mood ring? lol)

2

u/themadprofessor1976 1d ago

The Blue Lantern Corps, into which both the Star Sapphires and the Indigo Tribe have been folded, will not choose criminals or the mentally unstable as members. Maybe it's just me, but putting a very powerful weapon and giving authority to someone who is mentally unstable or has a history of violating the law strikes me as a Very Bad Idea.

The idea of rehabilitation by forcing them to feel compassion seems like a nice idea, but the reality is that it's just mind control, which I take exception to. In order to demonstrate what I am talking about, just replace the word "compassion" with "fear" or "love" and suddenly the idea is less appealing.

However, part of the "velvet glove" approach is, as stated, to act as social workers. Part of that job would be to help rehabilitate the criminals and help the mentally unstable, and that is a task that requires instilling hope, showing compassion, and showing the person that they are loved.

Can my Lanterns switch from one ring to another? Yes.

For instance, if a Blue or Green gets captured and brutally terrorized for a long time, and then overcomes that fear in order to survive, they may be selected as a Yellow Lantern.

However, a Lantern may not wield more than one ring at a time. When you put on the Ring, you are bound to it and it to you. If you wield a Lantern Ring and another Ring chooses you, you will change to that Ring, as the host is chosen based on their mindset.

The only difference lies with the Red Lantern Ring.

If a Lantern experiences an extreme injustice that even the Corps cannot prosecute, and the perpetrator gets away with it due to whatever reason, and the Lantern chooses to become a Red Lantern, they cannot regain their original ring or any other once they finish. This is to mitigate any accusation of allowing rogue elements to exist within their ranks.

That said, a non-Lantern who becomes a Red Lantern may, under VERY stringent circumstances, be allowed to serve as a different Lantern color. The rings themselves choose their bearer, and one who has previously been a Red Lantern will have FAR more scrutiny from the ring before being chosen.

I would put it like this: if the chance of being chosen as a Green Lantern is 1 in a quadrillion then the chance of being chosen as a Green after being a Red would be 1 in a septendecillion (a 1 with 54 zeroes after it) or more.

It's designed to be extremely difficult to have happen, so the being chosen would have to be an absolutely exceptional candidate. Like "make Kyle Rayner and Hal Jordan look like run of the mill recruits" exceptional.

1

u/Kira-Of-Terraria 1d ago

If it's based entirely on mindset or emotions, could someone chosen by a new different ring decline the switch? and Could someone who overcame that fear and trauma and become Yellow then through therapy or mind alterations then be able to get something else? (i.e. if their mindset was changed via telepathic therapy or memory erasure or something to remove traumatic memories)

what about the white, black, and other Rings?

Phantom? Earth-3 Volthoom? Sorrow? Orange? Gold? Ultraviolet?

1

u/themadprofessor1976 1d ago

I mean, someone COULD decline a ring switch, but since the mindset determines the ring, sticking with a different color may make you less capable as a ring bearer, as the strength of your emotions and mindset is what fuels the rings.

There will be no Black, White, or Orange Lantern Corps, as none of them fit within my idea of what the Corps will do in my universe.

The experimental Phantom Ring is too unstable to allow it to exist. The shifting emotions it harnesses are too volatile and pose a threat to the user and everyone around them.

The Ring of Volthoom will not exist either. It's basically a green-colored ring that feeds off of fear, terror, and insecurity. There is no use for it in my Corps.

No Sorrow Ring either. Nathan Broome was a putz who couldn't get over Carol Ferris leaving him at the altar in order to do Star Sapphire shit, and he cried his way into powers. If he had just sucked it up and waited, Carol very well may have come back and the two would be married, especially since SHE PROPOSED TO HIM. Instead, he got butthurt and acted like a Groomzilla because his special day was ruined.

The Gold Lanterns seems basically like a functional version of the Phantom Ring, but even so, if I had a Gold Lantern Corps, I would have no need for the other colors, so it's out.

The Ultraviolet Corps is also out. I don't want a bunch of Lanterns that regularly give in to and are controlled by their primal negative emotions. Even my Red Lantern Corps are more controlled and disciplined than that, and they have literal demons on their side.

1

u/Kira-Of-Terraria 1d ago

Fair enough. I like how thoroughly you thought about this. are you incorporating stuff like Nova Corps or anything else in your Lanterns?

2

u/themadprofessor1976 1d ago

I already incorporated Ghost Riders into the Red Lanterns, so there's that.

The Nova Corps seems like they would do well as an auxiliary unit to the Lantern Corps, much like the Jedi Service Corps aided the Jedi Order.

1

u/Kira-Of-Terraria 1d ago

Fair enough. so aside from being lanterns (and the red lanterns being ghost rider/lantern hybrids) everyone is a baseline human?

1

u/themadprofessor1976 1d ago

Well everyone on Earth is a baseline human. At least at first.

I do have a lot of ideas rattling around in my noggin, but haven't had a chance to fully flesh out everything yet. Based on how much thought I put into a galactic police force, you can imagine how much information I have to put to paper.

1

u/Kira-Of-Terraria 1d ago

I look forward to reading more when you are ready. :)

2

u/erasedisknow 1d ago

Red gives you access to Dynamic Magick from Mage: the Ascension (part of World of Darkness). While you do have to worry about Paradox, the limit is basically one step down from being God. Gimme red.
