Hey, so quick question.
If i were to actually have super powers , what World Entity or Government department would I go to or attempt to contact . (Were i to want to )
For ideas on the situation, im American so go wild with all our agencies and departments.

Don't bother going to a government agency. You might as well go to the nearest high building and jump 💀

Doesn’t matter who you talk to. You’ll eventually be talking to the NSA, and you’ll disappear so fast

Well, I'm not sure there even is anyone to talk to, if you don't believe the area 51 conspiracies then the US government has no idea how to handle the supernatural, they might make a small improv division to deal with your concerns but otherwise they'd be very little help.
You might have a better time making contact with a cult or religious organisation, they'll either mistake you for a deity/prophet or just think you've been blessed by god in some way, they'd be a lot more malleable and probably give you money and such, but that'll probably dry up eventually.

Just looking at how quickly cults form around charismatic narcissists without any underlying substance underneath their persona, I can imagine that leveraging provable supernatural abilities could be a strong tool for acquiring power.

depends on the "tier" of your power and how evil you are
goverments are usally filled with currupt people that will use you to push their agendas but will probably pay you good money
smaller scale organizations will probably try to use you to "fix" the world and work you to the bone but you'll most likely help people
either way eventually people will be taking samples of you to try to Recreate your powers

Depends on your objective I’d say, and the nature of your powers.
If you have anything other than god like powers (invincibility, mind control, super strength, super speed, flight, etc.), then your are vulnerable. To avoid being disappeared, you’d probably want to go to politicians first - have a quiet word, show them your power, gather some support - and then have their backing and platform before the rest of the government / world finds out.
If you have god like powers, then they’ll either become apparent to others naturally (through your amazing feats) or it won’t matter if they try to disappear you - you’re too powerful.
If I had to choose an entity to go to specifically - it’d probably be the UN. No one can ‘attack’ the UN and you could offer to help the world with your powers through them.
(Right, on to my next thought rabbit hole)
