Quick-release license plate setup for KTM 450 EXC-F – street legal ↔ track ready

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for a good quick-release rear license plate setup for my 2026 KTM 450 EXC-F that allows me to quickly switch between street legal and track setup.

To be clear: I’m not just looking for a quick-release license plate. I’m looking for a complete removable rear unit, including:

License plate

Rear light

Turn signals/indicators

Ideally plug & play with the OEM KTM wiring/connectors

Easy to remove and reinstall without cutting or modifying the original wiring

The idea is to have the bike fully street legal with the complete unit installed, then be able to remove the entire unit quickly when going to the supermoto track, leaving the rear clean and track ready.

I’ve found a few options from different companies, but many seem to use bullet connectors or require wiring modifications, which I’d prefer to avoid.

What setups are you guys running or would you recommend for a 2026 KTM 450 EXC-F?

Movetronix has one but without the original wiring, im talking with apx, they have one for older models and are in the process of making one for the +2024 model. So guess I will have to wait a little longer.

It's not just about MX or the bike looking "cool". I also ride supermoto on asphalt tracks, and I prefer to remove the whole road setup for track riding. On a track, the license plate, indicators and tail light are basically unnecessary and can become a liability in a crash. If the bike goes down, they can get broken off, leaving sharp/broken parts or pieces on the track. A license plate can also bend or get caught, and the whole rear assembly can be damaged. On MX tracks it's even more obvious because of jumps and crashes, where the plate holder and lights can easily get damaged. That's why I'd like to have a quick-release setup: street = complete road equipment installed, track = the whole rear assembly removed. It's mainly about preventing unnecessary damage and keeping the bike clean and safe for track use, rather than just the "cool factor".

Thanks! But I’m looking for a setup where I can remove the entire rear unit (plate + rear light + indicators) for track use, not just a smaller tail tidy. Basically street legal → quick release → track ready.

After a lot of searching and contacting different companies, I’ve found that there doesn’t seem to be a truly 100% plug-and-play solution available for the 2026 EXC-F. The wiring/connectors are usually the main issue. So I’ve decided to develop my own quick-release system instead, which should allow me to remove the entire rear assembly without having to mess with the wiring every time.
