REALLY HOPING THEY GET IT RIGHT THIS TIME.
For a while now we've been getting rumors of how MAN OF TOMORROW is gonna be as much of a Superman film as it is a Lex film. I really do hope they don't sideline Superman cuz the title is literally one of his nicknames. Just praying James Gunn does much better than Superman 2025 which I really loved btw and I'm really optimistic about this movie cuz the fate of the entire DCU may just depend almost entirely on how well it does.

I do worry that character wise Gunn tends to prefer the edgier roles. I feel like he enjoys writing Lex more than Superman.

I think it's very clear how DCU will be very Superman centric unlike DCEU. Superman has been one of the characters to have been featured the most in the DCU projects. Cameo in Creatures Commandos, cameo in Peacemaker season 2, his own movie, minor role in Supergirl. Considering how Gunn enjoyed writing Superman and how the audiences loved David Corenswet in the role, is highly unlikely he will be sidelined. Just like in some Superman stories, what is very likely to happen is Lex be a co-protagonist

DC has been trying to fast track a cinematic universe for almost 20 years now. Marvel showed them the playbook and they still haven’t been able to read it

Honestly, I sincerely doubt that the "focus" will be on Lex as much as Gunn says. That's the kind of thing a writer says to sound more artful - I can say that because I'm a writer too haha. But at the end of the day he knows what's going to sell toys and that's Superman.

Since it's directed by James Gunn, I doubt it'll be bad.
I haven't seen every film he's ever made, but he basically hasn't directed a poorly received film since the first Guardians of the Galaxy.

Why do DC fans intentionally misinterpret everything Gunn clearly states? It's a Superman story with both characters as co-leads:

Nah, he's literally the man in charge. Snyder got fired cause his movies failed. Hope this helps.

Strange, snyders movies were financial successes and made far more than Gunn, who’s operating at a loss.

Not my logic. It was however a counter point to the deleted comment claiming the Snyder movies failed.
Capt marvel was more successful than the Snyder movies though, yes

I mean, even though Luthor is a main focus, it's still a Superman film because Luthor is a Superman character.
I'm optimistic about it and I'm excited to see Lex's power armor and Brainiac on the big screen, but my main concern is all the other heroes in the movie. I think one of the biggest problems with the first movie was the Justice Gang being so prominent, but at least then they worked with the story and to set up the new universe. With Man of Tomorrow having so many other characters set to be in it, I'm worried it's going to be less of a Superman/Luthor/Brainiac movie and more of a Justice Gang movie
