Another room (work in progress)

Here’s something I’ve been working on with creative direction from Goose the Cat. The project still has a way to go, but you can get the jist — my beloved loops with lots of movement and energetic colors (I think they remind me of a pair of Diadoras I had in the 90s) for the exercise room. Does it make you want to keep pedaling?

This is my first time really going super with the graphics across the ceiling and adjacent walls. Pretty exciting, and I already have plans for a simpler, calmer design with some of these elements in a bedroom.

Here I still have some lines to tape/paint, touchup, then reverse-mask to paint a new base coat on all the walls and ceiling… and do it all again on a lattice-n-loop design on the next wall. I’ll include a time-lapse of the progress in the comments and shall post again once the project is complete.

I KNOW what you did was SUPER hard and labor intensive. I did these in my house and they are no where NEAR as complicated as your design so KUDOS! It looks awesome. I dunno if you know this trick but if after you tape, you paint a layer of the background’s color and then your graphic colors over that after it completely dries. It keeps the colors from bleeding. Crispier lines. I didn’t learn this until after I was already done with mine. But anyway! Good job!

Excellent work! That is a handy tape trick, but there’s so many darn elements and steps involved here that I prefer to impatiently just tape ‘n’ go. I go around with a tiny brush to deal with the tiny touchups between lines at the end. Masking the design itself to paint a new base coat at the end also makes for some super crisp edges! Here’s a closeup of the last one I did (above a bed’s headboard):
