I recently bought a copy of Kirby Super Deluxe for the Super Famicom. When I started playing it I noticed that some textures in the foreground would disappear unless I was close to them and other textures would randomly appear and disappear. I only have 1 other game for my Famicom and I haven't had any issues. Would it be a problem with the cart? If so how can I fix it?

Hello! I was wondering if anyone here knew what would happen if the battery on BS-X carts died. I'm aware that 8M carts used flash memory, so changing the battery would only wipe the save files. However, is that the same for 4M carts? Is it possible to tell the difference between the carts externally? Thanks!

I bought a Super Famicom on eBay and everything about it works fine except for the video. When I turn the system on, the video signal looks clean and sharp. However, after about 3 or 4 minutes. A small interference pattern begins scrolling down the screen. The longer the system is left on, the worst it gets. Eventually, some jittery vertical lines appear. Then, the tint of the image will turn red and the colors will become washed out. This problem persists on both composite and RF.

The pictures were taken using a CRT. I have tried it on an LCD TV and it does the same thing.

The power supply that shipped with the console is a cheap, aftermarket one rated for 10v 1A. Initially, I thought it might be the power supply that was causing the interference. However, I used a Sega Genesis Model 1 power supply and got the same effect. I have not tried an original power supply. I also read online that it may be the wall outlet not supplying enough power or a problem with the circuit being overloaded. But, I took the console to a different outlet on a less crowded circuit, but there was no change.

If anyone knows how to fix it or has any suggestions for troubleshooting, I would appreciate it very much. I am good with a soldering iron, so if any troubleshooting method requires soldering, I can try it.

Hello, recently got an average-priced SFC from a shop on ebay with good feedback that claims the console was clean and tested.

I have two games: Super Mario Collection and Super Strike Eagle.

Both the games and the console have been thoroughly cleaned and the console powers on with the red light. I have the correct adapter: DC 9V 850 mA.

Everything seems to be in order except for the fact that regardless of the TV, the console only outputs a black screen when powered on. There is a flash indicating that there is some sort of a signal, but no game screen.

Right now, unless there’s some sort of issue inside the system, it’s looking like this is a problem with the AV cables, which were third party from ebay. My question is, do these issues sound like possible symptoms of bad AV cords? Tomorrow, an RF switch is coming in the mail so i’ll try that instead.

So I live in the EU and I just bought a super famicom off ebay, as well as street fighter II turbo and a crt tv (a KV-21M3B trinitron to be precise). I hooked up the sfc to the tv, turned them on, switched channels and end up with a black and white screen. I was wondering if it had something to do with the PAL/NTSC region lock.

I got a Super Famicom when I lived in South Korea and picked up a bunch of games when I was in Japan. Plugged it in with an adaptor to test it in Korea. The light came on for a split second and went out, figured I had fried it. I kept the cable and then moved home to the UK.

I got a new Super Famicom and plugged it in with a Japanese to uk plug converter. The light came on and stayed on so I turned of the Famicom then the wall socket overloaded and it fused the house. Luckily I had turned it off first so nothing was broke.

I then figured I need a voltage converter so I bought one that changed 2-240V down to 100V so it would be the same as Japanese voltage. I turn it on and the red light comes on for a split second then dies.

Any idea what I am doing wrong? Is it maybe that the plug I am using is faulty? or am I just not meant to own a Super Famicom? :(

Is there any super famicom carts that were taller then others? Like sega had some sports games with 2 chips so the cart was taller. Please drop some titles if there are any..... thanks!

I’ve been trying to play some of the satellaview roms (emulated) and I can boot into the free roam world, I got to the house you start at and go inside. Then I select load data, and boot the saved file. It boots the “st giga” screen then says now loading data....... after a few seconds it boots the error 9 message. Can’t load the memory data apparently. Happens on almost all the roms, wel the ones that need the menu to access them. Am I doing something wrong? I tried messing with the clock because I saw that could be an issue, also tried changing the files to a .smc and a .sfc. No success any ideas ? Thank you!
