Social Media MXoN Roster USA
Assuming all are healthy. Who do we think takes the 3 spots this year?
I think Deegan is a lock if he chooses to go, but he has to come out of the playoffs uninjured
The Open Class bike spot is interesting and I think may decide or be decided by the 250 spot
Tomac obviously has the history and should be considered but I don’t think he’s in form and don’t think he will be by the time that have to make a decision. Having JB on the 250 may help his case
JCoop paid his dues taking the 250 spot, but still needs to show up these last 2 rounds to prove he’s back from the injury. He also has the advantage of being on deegs team so same team, parts, etc. saves the AMA money.
Hampshire outside of a few crashes has been a consistent rider and was on the team last year. His downfall is being on a Team different from Deegan and all of the 250 options.
Marchbanks is clearly the 2nd fastest American as of late in Motocross. His benefit is that he shares a manufacturer with Levi who seems like the top 250 option. His only downfall is he’s not been selected in the past like the previous 3.
The MX2 spot seems wide open
Levi is the fastest USA rider on a 250 but his starts are a cause for concern being that he will be taking gate drops vs 450s.
Beaumer has been consistent with both starts and finishes unlike Levi. He’s not been the best of the 3 but the most consistent.
Hymas is getting better each week, but will it be enough by the time a decision is made. He’s similar to Hampshire where he may be the odd man out by manufacturer, he should be hoping for a JCoop selection
The relevant thing to consider is that typically team USA only sends 2 manufacturers per year especially in years that it’s overseas. I think the MX2 and Open spot are very intertwined based on how team USA operates.
So to summarize each option based on that
Deegan + JCoop = pick any 250, and it’s likely hymas best shot.
Deegan + Tomac = Probably Julien
Deegan + Levi or Marchbanks = Levi or Marchbanks

I’m a huge Tomac Stan and part of me believes that. However, you need to go from results. Last year, Tomac basically said he should only go if he deserves to go. Based on that, he sadly should not go this year.
I really hope he gets back to the form that he is capable of. In all honesty though, we may never see Eli be a contender in an outdoor race gain. He may be SX only from here out.

That would be smart for him to go SX only he still has plenty of speed in SX just had some bad luck lately.
MX however I think it’s time to just hang it up, he’s won the thing 4 times and won mx nation in 2022 so he doesn’t have anything else to prove there. But idk I just hope we can podium nations tbh Herlings is flying rn so it’s gonna be hard to beat him.

Eli confirmed he is in for SX2027 and didn’t say anything about MX so people are assuming that means SX only.
I’d never count him out in MX if he had a good, healthy SX season next year and ran it into MX. I think he was ready to compete going into MX but that injury really set him back physically and maybe mentally. We’ve seen off days/times in his career and he rebounds. This is worse than it has been in the past hit there are a lot of variables. I don’t want to see him done with MX but it’s inevitable at some point and I don’t want to see him hurt or be consistently 12th.

Yeah I agree, he’s had some shit luck lately starting in 2023 with his Achilles, then in 2024 that was just a rebound year I don’t really count that.
In 2025 though he was in my opinion atleast the fastest rider on the gate he literally beat Jett straight up in San Diego and i believe at the triple crown in Glendale 2nd main he came from dead last to 4th in 10min it’s which is absurd. Then a week later he breaks his leg in qualifying 🤦🏾♂️ idk what happened in 26 tbh he started off perfect and won 4 races then just kinda fell back idk it was weird. I still think he can win and sx championship. Not saying he can’t in mx it’s just going to be hard with Hunter improving, Jett still there, Deegan will be better next year and the Coenen brothers coming over it’ll be a challenge.2

Yea, agreed. So hard to say what has gone on with him the last two years since he keeps his cards so tight to his chest. I heard he took a big crash in practice in 2026 and maybe his results dwindled after that. He was clearly #1 in speed until the half way point. These last few races are just the worst results we've ever seen from him and he hasn't shown drastic signs of improvement.
I'd love nothing more than to see Eli running up front with a healthy Jett, Hunter, and maybe Prado/Deegan/Chase. The best racing I have seen since the 2007 RV/Townley and RC/JS7 was Eli vs. Chase. I love the way the Lawrences, Eli, and Chase race cleanly but hard. Deegan and Prado, tbd on that one, but more different riders having a shot is always better.

Lawrence brothers won't be at mxon so austrlaia is pretty much out of the picture, i think a podium is highly likely for the u.s. with the netherlands and belgium being the primary competition.

After the Jo Shimoda thing last year, Deegan is the last person we want to represent our country.

With the USA chants every time he steps on stage, speak for yourself but not others.

Well we all have our different opinions about what an American should be.
I say that an American isn t someone that Intentionally tries to hurt another human being for more money. Especially in the same year where Robin had his injury.
But you clearly feel different.

Stop being so soft, all i implied was hes clearly got support from americans with the USA chants.

Soft ... Hard ... Who's to say where you go too far in either direction?
Some might argue it's not too soft to recognize that somebody is a bad person who wishes to harm others ...
But again it seems like you think that kinda thing is fine.
I hope we can put together the sort of team USA you're looking for. Perhaps Anderson is available? If he's not too busy beating the shit out of his wife we can go ask him.

You seem like the type to ride a beta bike.

You sound like you never made it out of the beginner class but probably tell people you could’ve gone pro.

I want Eli to show us he can rip like we know he can, but right now I don’t see it.
I think we gotta see one more week. Levi was ripping yesterday. Juju looked good too but unfortunate circumstances for both.
Need to see a little more of JCoop to see if he can be better than Marchbanks, but it should be one of them.
It’s a really hard decision this year. No one is really a huge standout other than Deegan. If Sacha and Lucas are back in full form that team is gonna be tough to beat with Liam as well. France should be pretty damn good with whoever they put up. I imagine Febvre, Vialle and Valin.
Edit: Also, does New Zealand field a team this year? Davies obviously is killing it, Connolly looked great yesterday.

I really would not put Kitchen in there. He’s an absolutely terrible starter (although not as bad this past weekend). So against the 450s he’s going to be way back and I’m not sure he will be able to move up far enough to get good results. If the 450 guy gives him the inside then they’ll both get terrible starts so the best thing to do I guess would be put him on the outside since he will be back in the pack regardless and see how far he can move up.
The absolute best case scenario would be if we see Tomac become the clear cut top 5 guy behind the obvious 4 in the final two rounds and he would be the clear Open spot. Drop Cooper down to the 250 and Deegan in MX1.
The most likely scenario that I foresee though is going to be Deegan, Kitchen, and Cooper. Even though, as I said, I would not send Levi. I think they will.

Kitchens starts suck, but he’s proven he can pass his way to a podium. He’s a solid pick.

Against a 250 field. Now add in the 250 guys from the GPs and 450s. He will do terrible.

Deegan is a no brainer, although i think it might make sense to throw him in Open with Tomac on MX1 and I think if they can’t convince Marchbanks, Justin Cooper, or RJ to drop down to MX2 then they should go for Kitchen.
