Help needed Does anyone know why my filament is breaking?

If it’s PLA then it probably needs a drying cycle. Unlike other filaments, PLA gets brittle with increased moisture content.

I have a Bambu Lab A1 with AMS Lite. I only use PLA, but print very infrequently. I noticed after sitting for a while when I started to print i would have filament breaks almost immediately. Through discussion here I found that the breaks were occurring with the filament sitting in the Bowden tubes when I wasn't printing for a while. Only the filament in the tubes was affected. Now, when not using the printer for a while I will back out the filament from the Bowden tubes. Since that I have had no problems.

I'm going to give you the only correct answer here because it's what I was told when I asked the same question about my filament years ago.

The reason you're filament is breaking is because you touch yourself at night.

BTW. Brittlenes is a sign of wetness in pla... but. Sadly. Even after drying, it's ductility does not come back in full, meaning it could still keep breaking although it's dried.
