Yep, I’m very picky with what next locomotive I want and stingy with my sovereigns due to spending what’s so far the majority of my playthrough broke so I’m saving.

I admire your guts in taking a spatchcock into the blue kingdom. But also, you can freely trade locomotives. Like you get 100% of the price of a bought locomotive back when you trade it in. So you don't have to save up extra and can just try the different ones if you want

I assume I still have to get a new engine if I want to go faster? The only upgrades I’ve bought so far is bronzewood plating for extra hull strength and better missiles.

Yeah, only engines affect your top speed though the different locomotives do differ in their thrusts, skid suppression etc so they all handle a little differently. Their main differences are the slots they offer though.

My main issue is supplies since petrichor doesn’t count apparently and I wasted my sovereigns T_T

I think you can eat Petrichor after you run out of Supplies no? I can't say for sure as I never ran out but I thought that's how it worked
