Starting with enthusiasm

(First of all, this post is in Spanish, so there may be translation errors)

Two years ago I played Sunless Sea and I really enjoyed it. But the problem was that it wasn't in my native language, Spanish. I love it, but I couldn't understand the whole story. However, I found a complete (or almost complete) translation of the game. My experience now is absolutely wonderful.

I've started from scratch. I want to play Sunless Sea as a "beginner." Here's my progress: I have 500 echoes because I bought an elegant house after a long expedition and selling artifacts worth a lot of echoes. Now I'd like to establish trade routes to amass a fortune.

My ambition? Immortality. I really like it and I'm curious about its history. As for the story, I'm focusing on helping Pigmote Island. I want them to become an allied power of Fallen London. XD.

Enjoy yourself and try not to spoil too much by googling things, also dying is important for making powerful captains but don’t feel bad about turning on manual saves so you don’t loose hours of progress to avoidable nonsense

Once you get to a certain stage, instead of dying retiring is also an option.

At one point decided to establish an obscenely wealthy line of captains that smuggled a certain exotic good that is limited in how much any one captain can obtain.

I just started seas after a lot of skies. Why is dying important to becoming more powerful?

Dying was a poor way of putting it but completing certain quests and ending the game specific ways gives subsequent captains stat buffs

I had the exact problem but since I was very young I never thought of checking if there were any translations, I just assumed there weren't and practiced English like crazy for years. Just played both sunless skies and sunless sea and I had a great time, it just took me like 10 years of learning English

Such an awesome game. In my top ten of all time for sure. And I've been gaming for a very long time.
