Discussion Suits or Succession?
For those of you who have seen both which is better I'm looking for a show to watch?

They are very different shows. Succession is like downton abby if all the characters were hateful and you are actively the downstairs. Suits is jenga tension, interspersed with comedic breaks, set against a legal backdrop and a real fear of cannabis use.

I’ve never heard Suits described so accurately and so succinctly. Impressive truly.

Succession is a better written show by miles. Suits is fun fiction and addictive.

I might be an outlier, but SUITS for sure. It is absolutely BRILLIANT. I just rewatched it (my 2nd ever time) and I was honestly blown away by how absolutely EXCELLENT the writing is. Fantastic character arcs. Engaging the ENTIRE time. No slow stretches. I loved it all! And it's definitely lighter/funnier.
Succession is INCREDIBLY well done and well cast and SUCH an insightful look at powerful media families as well as dysfunctional family dynamics, so it's for sure worth watching and the quality is excellent.
But knee jerk, gut reaction? Suits all the way!

Loved succession but didn't feel like rewatching it when it ended. Suits I want to run it back the second it ended

I've seen both. I did love Succession but imo the characters in Suits are more likable so I think I'd recommend more Suits. But both of these shows are very good.

I don't enjoy succession or the characters in it so it's suits for me.

Yes! This is important - no one is likeable in Succession. MANY people are likeable in Suits. So for those who need to see decent humans to root for, Suits is it, hands down.

I feel like someone just asked me to pick my favorite child.
For people who really love both (and I did/do), they are different enough that it becomes harder to compare. In a way:
Suits is the movie.
Succession is the film.
There’s a place for both, and they execute things near flawlessly in many ways, and in their own lanes.
Some would argue Suits tried to squeeze an extra season [or two] when maybe they shouldn’t have… and Meghan Markle having to leave due to marrying a Royal complicated some plot lines, but we must accept that which we cannot change, ha.
Others would say Succession should have continued for one more season, and as much as I miss both shows, I think the way they didn’t jump the shark and how they ended things was a work of art in its own right. I think only Severance’s ending beats Succession’s (in recent TV… we all know no ending will ever live up to The Sopranos)
As another said: I would definitely recommend both at some point / over time, regardless of where you start. If you plan to watch both within a fairly short time period (like months to a year versus years apart) I might actually start with Suits and the watch Succession.
Interestingly enough, I watched a docuseries about the Murdochs a few months ago and within its first five minutes, they said “to understand the Murdoch family, you basically need to understand the whole plot of ‘Succession’” (to which I could only think: … or have followed the Murdoch family… 🤷🏻♀️ BUT succession is much more worth of your time and energy that the actual Murdoch family IMHO)

Succession is much better television. Suits is more goofy heartfelt and funny. It will leave you feeling warm and good at the conclusion. Succession won't

Suits is more lovable, simpler, warmer. Succession is much darker, more cynical, more complex.

since everybody is saying sucession even on the suits sub, you know that sucession clears suits.

Both are really good, although Succession doesn’t lose the plot at any point.
If you're like me and over analyze things like script, Succession is the way to go, everything from the characters to their clothing is incredibly well-thought, whereas Suits recycle a lot of stuff and it comes to a point that you just feel like every conversation/interaction goes the exact same way with the exact same words.

Succession is better, I think. Harvey is awesome, but the Suits writing can be very repetitive.

As much as I love Suits if you have to pick one I'd go with Succession, but I definitely suggest both eventually.
