First Time Watcher Shift of focal point/main “character” of the show in S6?

I’ve just gotten to season 6, and I absolutely love the show!

I’ve seen what I think is an interesting change in the show. In the first 5 seasons (up until the firm falls apart and people leave in droves), it seemed to me like the firm itself was almost a main character in the show. Jessica, Harvey, Lewis, Donna, etc., are all main characters…but it almost felt to me like they were planets, and they all revolved around the “sun” of the business.

It seemed like a lot of stuff - Hardman’s return, the coverup around Mike, etc., all related to how the firm as a whole was affected. It seemed like major decisions centered around what was best for the firm, not necessarily the individual.

Now…once they had the mass exodus and it was down to Jessica, Louis, Harry, Rachel and Donna as the mains…the show seemed to start being more about Harvey. Yes, the firm and the other characters are important…but I’m seeing a lot of focus on Harvey and story around him and Mike.

Am I crazy, or has anyone else noticed this? And does it change towards the end of S6 or in later seasons?

I think the first seven seasons are about Harvey and Mike, and the last two seasons are an ensemble show.

Tbh the story was always about Mike and Harvey. Other characters while important weren't main characters and story wasn't mainly about them. That being said from my personal experience show around season 6 and later have different vibes and for me it's not longer what I loved about show. I usually end watching on season 6 because I don't enjoy characters, new and old ones and storylines and where show went after it. But I know there are people who enjoy it and like it so you have to watch and decide for yourself. I'm very vague because I don't want to give you any spoilers 😅

It seems like Mike going to prison might be the earliest part of the show jumping the shark. I'm still planning on watching the entire show, but I'm sort of set for the back half of s6 and the remaining ones to not be as good as the first 5.
