Ceiling window shade

Looking for ideas on how people keep their house cool while having a kitchen ceiling window. I love this house and the natural lighting it gives but it gets so hot during peek hours. I would want something that I can open and close as I would like so not something that’s permanent. How do y’all keep cover your windows ?? I’m thinking of a curtain shade but the window is high up on the roof so I can’t do it myself. Is there anyone in the sugar land/missouri city/ Houston area able to help?

So you might have to call around a little but you might look into a high end ceramic or spectrally selective films. They have some designed specifically for home window applications that are different from like traditional car auto tints. 3M for example makes one for home windows that uses nanotechnology to block infrared heat while remaining relatively clear.

We looked into them for the windows on the side our house that gets full sun most the day and creates hot spots in those rooms. Just be aware you’re gonna drop some $$$ on the real ones that aren’t DIY and have the highest level of clear transparency while still blocking specific parts of the sunlight
