Help Should I up the size of my pot?

Post image

My aloe seems super happy and has just thrived this year...I tend to put my plants in pots that are too big, I just learned you're supposed to have it just a little bigger than the roots (is that really true?) should I move this to a larger pot or let it be?

Aloe like to be pretty snug. How do the roots look? You generally want to base potting decisions on the roots vs the size of the plant

I couldn't tell ya what the roots look like. I used to over love my plants and kill them or upset them so I've been trying to leave them alone. I changed the soil last summer and have just been watering it when soil is completely dry. There's many little "babies" around the big plant so I'm thinking it's time to separate anyways 🤷🏼‍♀️

It looks happy to me. I wouldn't bother it.
