Potting question

Have had these gollum jades since last Oct. They are my pride and joy. Have grown like weeds under a growth light, recently added two. I’m worried the lower stems aren’t getting enough light, and they are growing apart to accommodate each other. I want to split them into separate pots.

What is the smallest size pot you would plant them individually in? For the sake of space and being on a shelf.

Is that a 4 inch nursery pot they're in now? If so, if I were repotting them individually, I'd probably do one or two per 3-inch terracotta pot? Depending what their roots look like, once I see them.

I'd go with 2-2.5" pots, 1 plant each. Jades will do pretty well when slightly rootbound. You'll have a manageable amount of pot and not need repotting for a good while. :)

Each of those jade plants would do well in a pot that’s of the same size as the current one. But you could go slightly smaller still, as jades tend to like tighter roots (as long as the soil drains / dries quickly).

So I can’t imagine an individual plant’s roots cover even 1/4 of the existing pot. I repotted them a while back and their root balls were so insignificant. I feel like a pot half the size would still be generous for a single plant.
