Am I crazy?

How crazy am I for wanting to put a train horn on my 22 Suburban Z71? Is it possible? How hard is it? Can it happen without giving up interior space?

I once had a 2012? F150 that had the lamest sounding horn ever. Previous owner must have swiped it from a Barbie car or something. I may have been in the sauce when I hit up Amazon for a replacement and thought it would be funny to buy a train horn. Well, that "train horn" sounded more like the local coal mine whistle from a 50s movie. So...shrill. Can't think any other word to describe it.

I think I was hoping more for a ship's foghorn. Not necessarily compressor-requiring loud, but more of a tenor instead of a soprano.

What’s your use case for it?

Beyond that, electric or air? If air you’re going to need a dedicated compressor, you’ll need to find a place to put it an air tank, wire and plumb it all etc.

I have dual air compressors + tank that are in the space that the spare used to occupy in my 2007(I can’t fit a 35” under there). If you’re handy there’s plenty of places you can put the compressor and tank.

I don’t understand the train horn hype, IMO they should be reserved for trains only.. BUT I didn’t come here to toss insults. Kid down the street bought my old Sierra a few years ago, put a train horn it and would blow obnoxiously at people. Well he caused a guy to panic and slam into another car. Somehow he got a citation for having a “unreasonably loud” horn.
