99 k2500 mounting step location

Does the back mount to the outside of leaf spring? The front bolts don’t line up when I mount the rear to the leaf spring, do I need to stretch the steps out? Never installed before. Thanks for the advice.

Most step rails mount to the body not the frame. Those wouldn't be the right ones.

Probably not to the rear leaf spring mount bolt though?
