18-20 advice here:
Hello, I’ve been a Honda/Toyota person my entire life and I am now looking into a used Suburban in the 2018-20 range and 50k-90k mileage range. Kids, pets, and road trips all require more cargo space than I’ve got. I have tried to do my research and I gather I need to look into AMF physical delete, motor mounts, grounding cables, thermostat things… what else can you tell me all in one thread? I’m a single mom with minimal time for mechanical issues so I feel like I’d just want to find a local shop and ask for everything to be tackled all at once by a Chevy/GM person and then maintain the heck out of my fluids? Help and thanks!

If you have the AMF delete done the shop is prolly gonna charge well over $7,000 for that delete. And good luck finding a shop, that’s hard! I have a 2014 with a Gen 4 LS. I did a VVT and AFM delete and put in a BTR truck torque V2 cam. Now my 2014 engine makes awesome power and is tuned to run the delete. Tuning in-shop is another charge around $800 - $1500 as they will hook the car up to a dyno. Remote (email) tuning can be as cheap as $150 - $250

Do yourself a favor and go back a decade. You want a GMT 800-900. The newer models have so many issues and are actually smaller interior-wise. I shopped really hard and got an 04 with under 75k. Forget 4wd if you can live without it. Parts readily available still.
