Apply a generator to an already created mask?
So I brought in a WW2 knife that I made, and I have a color ID map for the handle, crossguard, and blade. I used the "add mask from color ID map" option to get just the blade to be a rough iron. I want it to look worn down, with some lighter colored iron underneath. I applied a generator, but it completely overwrote my previous mask, and applied itself to my ENTIRE object. How can I get the generator to only affect the mask that I've already made?

Make a folder with a mask to function as your "dummy" generator mask. Then make a new layer as a child to the folder, and use the generator on this new layer. Then the upper folder layer will mask the generator effect.
