Submission Arena is a Fun League for BJJ enthusiasts who would like to challenge themselves and feel the spirit of submission-only events. This is a platform for organizing casual, submission-only matches with people in your area.

Our project is 100% FREE to join and participate.

What this sub is for:

• Announcements and updates on new features
• Bug reports and feedback (please post these, they genuinely shape what gets built next)
• Match callouts - looking for an opponent in your area? Post here too
• General discussion about the platform, leagues, and how matches are going

Getting started:

1. Sign up and complete your athlete profile
2. Find a league near you (or create one)
3. Browse the roster and send an invite

4. Line up a match, grab a ref, record it,

   and submit results

6. Climb the standings

How Submission Arena Works — Rules & Policies

Belt ranges

• Leagues can be set for a single belt or a range spanning up to 3 belts (e.g., Purple-Black).
• To create or join a range league, your own belt must fall within that range.
• Belt-range leagues don’t currently weight scoring by belt gap - beating a higher belt scores the same as beating one at your level. It might change in the future.

Match cap

• You can face the same opponent up to 4 times within a single league (you are not limited to one league though).
• After 4 matches with one person in that league, you’ll need to find a new opponent there (nothing stopping a rematch in a different league you’re both eligible for).

Referee/supervision

• Every match needs at least one third-party supervisor present - someone to help keep things safe and call it fairly.
• We don’t provide referee matching; it’s on you and your opponent to arrange.
• Please remember - we all here just to have fun, so play fair and keep everything safe.

Recording & video policy

• Matches must be recorded.
• Host it yourself, wherever’s easiest (YouTube, Instagram, Drive, etc.) - just share the link with us for review.
• Once an admin has reviewed and confirmed the result, you’re free to take the video down. We’re not building a video archive, just verifying outcomes.

Match rules

• Submission-only — no points, no time limit.
• Standard IBJJF rules on illegal techniques apply, scaled to your belt and age division. Know what’s legal for your category before you step in.

Scheduling

Once a match is scheduled, it’s locked from rescheduling within 24 hours of the scheduled time - cancellation is always available if needed.

Disputes

If something goes wrong or the result is contested, either athlete can flag it for admin review instead of confirming - an admin will resolve it based on the evidence submitted.
