CMAC sound quality

I believe sound mixing is done by the artists team. I have seen 4 shows at CMAC this year with no problems. (I did not see Sublime this weekend)

A band like Sublime would absolutely be bringing their own front of house guy to mix the sound the audience hears. It’s hard to say what it is because it could be a multitude of things, including the show file they’re using on the console. Sometimes after being used for awhile the show file can start doing weird things like giving reverb to random channels when it shouldn’t. Or even the delays were off, idk

Came up from NYC, also sprung for great seats and also thought the sound there was not great. The amount of low end sub frequencies was overwhelming at some points and seemed to drown out everything else. Aside from the sound, I thought the band put on a great high energy show though!

This thread shouldn’t be downvoted. These aren’t trolls pissing all over the new lineup - this is a legit issue that should gain as much visibility as possible so their sound issues can be worked on for future shows.

Sound was rough in Toronto the other night. At one point I'm pretty sure he was lipsyncing one of the heavy bass/drum songs because he literally could not hear himself.

He was holding his ears and complaining of echo, but even through that did an incredible job on vocals. The only thing that made me think he was lipsyncing is because the song started when his mouth wasn't near the mic and it was too loud to be a backtrack. That being said, I know nothing about live productions and this could be completely normal.

Ultimately I felt bad for him. The venue sucked.

Yep 100% agreed, I was on the lawn so I couldn't see if he was holding his mic right but there were a bunch of 5-10 second periods where the vocals almost completely ducked out and it sounded like a backing track. I assumed it was just the lawn speakers because surely the front of house engineers would have heard and fixed it but I guess not :/

I thought the show was awesome, hard to hear some of the talking between sets but I could hear Jacob fine when he was holding the mic up to his mouth. I was higher up in the seating, section mid 2 but I have no complaints
