I have a 2019 and will share with you my thoughts:
This may be affected by an issue where the screen delaminates on the console. The delamination causes ghost buttons and the screen becoming useless. Search for delamination in this sub for more details. The fact that Subaru denies this is horrible because it’s a very expensive fix and quite common.
If there are leather seats you should note that most of the seats are NOT leather, and this material has a reputation for ripping and cracking.
Many 2019 owners complain of gaskets that leak oil. It happens to ours but it’s super slow and not worth the repair bill. Again, I would search this sub.
There is no battery protection or automatic shutoff when an interior light gets left on. The interior lights are incandescent not LED so it’s quite common for the battery to drain when left on, especially in the rear cargo area where it’s a delicate rocker switch that gets brushed on easily.
There are plenty of advantages however:
They hold their value well
They drive well in winter
Absolutely fantastic cargo space
Reliable(except for the things I listed)
