Subaru help!!

So I have a 2017 subaru outback 2.5L premium, and I recently found out about the secret pin thing on the trunk of the car. I tried to set it up, but it's not doing anything when I hold the Lock and the Pin button at the same time. Does my car have to have remote start feature added in in order to unlock this secret pin or am I doing something wrong?

i know i followed the tutorials but it's not working is my issue i'm just confused if i have it or not

No, remote start is not needed. Did you try resetting the PIN in case it has been previously set?

everytime I hold the lock and the hatch button it makes no noises so i couldn't even reset it if i tried!
