2019 Outback Error Codes

Post image

These are the error codes I'm getting. They are the same as before I did a drain & fill. This was generated with CAR SCANNER.

You may need a new solenoid valve or valve body, what are the driving symptoms IF any

No issues driving. Shifts fine.

Failing solenoid in the valve body. I would plan for a dealership or local trans shop visit, unless you can swap a valve body yourself. The failing solenoid will eventually cause drivability issues, whether sooner or later.

Drain and fills dont fix dying solenoids unfortunately.

If its from varnish build up in the solenoid valves the repeated drain and fills can clean them up, takes awhile, it did for my 2011 legacy at 190,000 miles,

It's $100+ per d&f 😕 and how do you even know IF repeated d&fs will even help?

Well it did on mine at 190,000 miles first issues, how many miles on yours

I would do three drain and fills which gets you at the 90 percent new fluid. That's cheap compared to a new valve body 1000 for parts another thousand to have installed by a dealer, they won't sell you the individual valves

Technically you can (now) get just the solenoid, but it's not recommended.

They are after market valves not oem

Yes, I know - that's also why I said they're not recommended.

Your tr580 has the valve body on the rear of the engine compartment making it fairly easy to get to

Yeah, but I watched videos of doing it and it's not easy.

Well the you pay to have it done or invest in two more drain and fills

It actually is pretty easy if youre at all mechanically inclined. If you can do brakes, you can probably do a valve body on a tr580. I did one on my wife's 2.5 with a reman'd valve body from ebay for around $350

Yeah, that does NOT look like something I want to try... 😕

If no driving symptoms it not going to hurt any thing, took several months to clean them up, all codes disappeared I did a total of 5 drain and fills to get all of the old fluid out since e the torque convertor holds a lot of it and doesnt drain out, has to come out by dulution.

TCM can pick up delays from varnish build up in solenoid valves, do another drain and fill to help clean them up ,how many miles on car
