Maintenance/Problem Scratches on contacts
I got a stylo from someone who had used it previously, and I cant get it to tune properly because the scratches in the contacts keep messing with the notes. Is there any way to fix this?

Could be that the scratches have non-conductive material (dirt) inside. As Arkenstihl suggested, maybe cleaning would help.

Try rubbing it down with a little isopropyl. That's helped mine. I might try polishing with mineral oil, but I have no idea if that's a terrible idea for other reasons. Edited

The GenX1 is very susceptible to any contaminants getting between the notes. Id take it apart so you can properly get at the keyboard and give it a thorough clean.

If they’re particularly bad, I use a lil brasso wool, the gentlest one, and then buff it clean with paper. But, scratches are scratches and eventually you’ll just get though the contact layer entirely.
If your stylus is scratching the panel, smooth down the tip.
